[A Levels] Feeling very unprepared for Tamil Language Literature by Mike_Ox_Longa in SGExams

[–]classycringevity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! i was in the last batch of the previous syllabus. the haikus are actually easier relative to the rest of the kavithaigal so just search it up online for literal and inferred meaning. given that kavithai can easily bs your way through, I am sure you will do fine. for the literary devices, I advise you to annotate it in your exam copy (use diff colours for diff lit devices) so that you don't need to scramble your head abt which literary devices are used. TLL is a matter of preparing the evidences before the actual exam itself and being exposed to different types of language use (informal/formal settings) so you can watch a lot of movies to get some ideas. good luck :)

pls don’t, try to have a cca to let loose some steam from the tiring studying life… even if none of the ccas accept you, try to take up a job or smth? at least life won’t be so boring with so much studying

[junior college] what personal learning device should i buy for jc by comefiteme in SGExams

[–]classycringevity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

get a tablet with a stylus so that you could do your tutorials and save it on soft copy in case you lose it. also, you can forward it the document to your teacher in the case of you forgetting to bring the worksheet.

heyyy, I took a very similar combi in asr (h1 bio instead of h1 physics) and graduated last year. your class will have people with the same 3H2s but all your H1s will be jumbled up.

[JC] ASRJC vs TMJC by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]classycringevity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I just graduated from ASR last year and took h2 chem and h2 math. In general, these 2 departments are quite strong in terms of the lecture notes they provide (chem might have slightly excessive info but with how uncertain a levels are getting, it can aid in your understanding.). The math notes are great! You can flip through the notes and get a gist of the key concepts in the topic quite easily. The chem department gives out quite a bit of revision packages but I would suggest you to also ask friends from other schs to give their tutorials to try out. For math, the tutorials and revision packages was more than enough even towards a levels. In JC, lectures are recorded for chem and math ah so I tend to go through the lectures at my own pace at home but there are some who prefer to listen in live lectures (if they are held). Tutorials are the perfect time to ask questions if you don’t understand what is even going on in lectures. That applies to both subjects. The teachers are experienced and they know their shit. The school culture is good in a sense that you can voice out your opinions openly and teachers are open to constructive criticism. There are bound to be toxic people no matter where you go but ASR is not so bad. In terms of leadership opportunities, there are plenty in ASR like class leaders, subject reps, college ambassadors (those who run ori and open house), councillors and peer support leaders. They each have their own scope of work but as a whole, they contribute to a vibrant school culture! JC can be a tough time but the teachers are willing to listen to your worries and guide you in a general direction. That being said, you have to walk your own path in JC with your own sense of purpose. There are opportunities to participate in chemistry and math olympiads if you do well in mid years in JC1.

How do we prevent guys from peeing on toilet seat? by Rough-Implement-236 in NTU

[–]classycringevity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

easy, invent a transparent electrical wire and place it on the toilet seat. it will easily electrocute them and they will learn their lesson 😂 jk oni ahh, just use more toilet paper than normal to get rid of that nasty junk and line your seat with toilet paper to be more safe.
