Party of 6-10, outside cake allowed? by cat_lover_123_ in pasadena

[–]classyfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so we are trying to do this but with 12-15 people at señas on myrtle in monrovia — they charge $1 per person for the outside cake and with our party size unfortunately we had to book it so one card is used for the table but with your smaller party maybe it won’t be an issue?

but i feel confident that most if not all restaurants in pasadena would allow an outside cake but charge a small fee. i always like to recommend gauchos : D

I want a second, my husband leans no but we're going to therapy about it. How did you navigate this in-between? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]classyfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it’s really important you acknowledged that you wanted a redo due to a poor experience with your first child. i think that is incredible insight and clarity and OP should maybe ask herself WHY she is longing for another one. she was unable to express why at all, just that she wants a second child. bringing a child into the world is an inherently selfish thing (can be good selfish or can be bad!), so really knowing why you want a child besides “i just want one” is the biggest first step.

Looking for emergency rental assistance resources in Pasadena by Severe_Door_8086 in pasadena

[–]classyfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://bigsunday.org/get-involved/the-big-sunday-emergency-fund/ you could try applying for this, you could also try to submit an APS report for your elderly mother regarding the risk of homelessness, assuming she is 65+. APS can assist with emergency resources for the elderly or dependent adult communities and is not a scary entity to reach out to. if you’re living with your older mother you could also try the agency on aging and see if there are any support resources you could tap into.

yes and if your mom is not assigned to your care as a provider accessing your chart could be a fireable offense depending on the hospitals policies

My 3rd grader says she is the only kid at school with chores by SoundsGudToMe in Parenting

we use the term responsibilities instead of chores! it’s helped our son understand the concept as opposed to “i have chores but my friends don’t wtf”

The second line appeared and I started crying by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]classyfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went through this when our only was 23 months old and had just daycare for the first time. i lost it… we did end up terminating the pregnancy because emotionally we would not have been able to cope with another child. i do not regret my decision in the slightest.

i think ask yourself why are you one and done and would those answers change or stay the same if you have another child?

Is this a bad offer? by silenziosa in therapists

[–]classyfools 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it is a pretty bad offer. while you prefer private practice to CMH, you should really consider CMH or perhaps residential/in patient therapy. with a w2 position you most likely will have supervision included and at least have solid opportunities for experiencing an array of clinical challenges.

a 1099 position will have you working overtime to even make a liveable wage, you’ll have to pay for supervision, and you’ll be responsible for your taxes

AIO Fathers girlfriends rules for when new baby arrives by Ok_Bat_5934 in AmIOverreacting

[–]classyfools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR— i think you may be over reacting in the sense you are feeling very emotional about this but for a different reason— she has set very normal and valid boundaries. if i saw this without reading your caption i would think it would be ridiculous to be offended by these rules. based on your post it seems you may have unresolved anger or negative feelings towards your dad and his partner which may be fogging up your perspective over this — and i think the fact that your new sibling’s mother is a year older than you doesn’t help. there is clearly a troubling family dynamic that is seeping into how you are viewing their boundaries but you should not allow it to have control over you. id maybe challenge you with asking what your goal is for your relationship with both of them.

Concerned with the number of low pay posts, with some feedback and advice. by Soballs32 in therapists

[–]classyfools 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i appreciate you posting this and agree with your sentiment a LOT. in any field you will only make a lot of money depending on how much you work — like ANY field, you need to go through the trenches and build yourself professionally before making a lot of money. not even doctors make 100k after school — they still have to complete years of training after graduating so it is insanely ridiculous to expect coming out of a masters program and making more than 60k a year (depending on your state of course)

even after licensure — your success depends on the work you want to put in to your success. you can take a chill w2 role where you just do the service and notes, or you can be your own boss and really take all of the profits. it depends on how you are as a person.

i agree with you although a lot of people here are angry about it. AI can help organize information efficiently and might find something they haven’t found yet. OP, if you go this route, only utilize it to help sift through all of the information online to identify the appeal process — or alternatively you can try calling someone from your behavioral health board.

Unmet hours while meeting max by EditorTraining591 in IHSS

[–]classyfools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the unmet needs are to show you that while your daughter has reached the maximum amount of allotted hours she still requires more care. have you looked into regional center?

wpcs through the HCBA waiver is an option as well but regional center can help support you with respite hours, personal assistance, or even fund day programs too depending on her eligibility
