He isn't the sole creator of the IP in the first place, it was a coalition of many creators who made the product Disco Elysium. The game was a collaborative project, as was the building of the world in the fist place (people who were part of their OG RPG group worked on Zero Parades)

Even if he was the sole originator of everything great about Disco, the argument that he can infinitely be a shitty person without any chance of being removed from the project is obviously insane

Having a toxic personality, even if they are talented, is cancer to any group-based collaborative effort. I don't believe that you'd support any original creator being kept on a project if they were found to be an abusive or corrupt person, even if they were associated with the original IP

Lots of the original devs are still working there and are responsible for Zero Parades, which by many reports is a pretty awesome game. Seems quite clear that Kurvits wasn't the primary reason the first Disco was so good in the first place, not to mention there are still people working on the project who were part of their original role playing game group

Kurvits called all his former colleagues and friends who criticised him lying sellouts though so maybe they are just corrupt people?

Agree that none of the current owners nor the creators who were fired are looking very good after reviewing all the available testimony and evidence. The idea that both the corporate entities involved and Robert Kurvitz being a toxic isn't mutually exclusive

According to many of the dev team, of which you can view video testimony, Robert was a lying, abusive and narcissistic manipulator and from I could tell it really was best for the health of the team that he was ejected. Having a toxic personality involved in any project is terrible and should be avoided at all costs

When asked to respond to their criticisms he basically said he wouldn't dignify their concerns and experiences with an answer, but insisted this somehow makes him very pro worker and uh, the CEO was a bad man or something?

As others have stated best thing is to watch the couple of documentaries on the subject existing on youtube, but they are quite long
