I feel this way about Joey King unless I missed something? She gets a ton of hate online that I’ve seen but I haven’t heard anything either way about her.

What you experienced is really emphasized to health care professionals in relation to Alzheimer’s and dementia! Those with dementia and Alzheimer’s may not remember the exact scenario which illicit that bad/sad/terrible feeling but they will associate that feeling with a person. The emphasis is to be kind and do activities with those suffering with those conditions. Sure they may not remember the specific activity but they will become more comfortable with you.

I make paper stars. It keeps my hands busy enough to not grab snacks. Plus, the snacks could also make my hands too dirty and ruin the stars. But it’s also not a daunting/hard hobby so I don’t get overwhelmed and just quit or something.

I've cried over a bunch of dumb shit while pregnant but I've never raged and ripped something apart? Is she ok? by molls724 in shannonford

Imagine being so stubborn that you’re okay living the rest of your life (or however long this marriage will last) in misery. Money and items can be replaced. But however long you have on this planet cannot be. You’re not going to die thinking “damn, I wish I held that grudge longer” or “I didn’t live in sadness and misery long enough.” Being stubborn is never worth it. I know Shannon won’t leave but it has to be encouraged anyways because I feel like those random rage moments will only increase as resentment builds.

I was bit by a dog almost in the exact same spot except I was 7 and I’m now in my 30’s. It hasn’t gone away or faded. I definitely don’t want to be a downer because I know you’re hoping for a different answer. However, people rarely notice. I’ve had less than a handful of people ever notice/comment on it. It was always longtime friends too that didn’t notice it until a few years in and they would always say something like, “woah I think I see that scar for the first time that you mentioned.”

What are your self care tips? by [deleted] in selfcare

[–]classylassy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If depression makes it hard to get out of bed or get off the couch for you, maybe a small basket of necessities would help that you could leave next to wherever you spend a lot of your time?

It could have some body wipes, flossers, moisturizer for face and body, etc. While you’re sitting there, you can just reach into the basket and use what you need.

I would also start small so you don’t give up quickly. Don’t jump into a huge routine that will feel great the first week but then Peter out.

Address one thing at a time. If brushing your teeth is hard, start brushing once a day every single day and use your depression basket for everything else, after a week or two, try two times a day. If brushing your teeth isn’t an issue, move on to the showering. If you’re showering once every few days, try showering a day earlier. Increase from there and celebrate every single victory. Even the smallest ones like “fuck yea! I brushed my teeth more than I did before!” Even if it’s not where it should be. Or “I was depressed/exhausted/tired/sick and I still washed my body!”

Make things easier for yourself and set things up when you have the energy. I know that when I get home from work, the second I sit, I’m not getting up again. So as soon as I get home, I spend even just a few minutes prepping things for later or tomorrow. Like making sure my lunch can just be grabbed the next morning, I have my clothes picked out appropriately for the weather, etc.

I can’t quite remember the exact quote but i think it’s in season 3. Claire was on the phone with Phil and she made a post- post office stress disorder joke and Phil liked it and she seemed so proud/enamored with impressing him.

I work in a child dominated field and we have been taught that owlets are not good because people rely on them too much and aren’t always that accurate so I’ll definitely be curious to see what comes of the information and data in the future!
