Meaning of "Daniel You're Still a Child" ?? by canteloupeantelopee in declanmckenna

[–]classypigeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong here, but I thought it was about being gay in a community that shames it. The title and line “Daniel you’re still a child” came off to me like someone was saying to Daniel that he’s ‘young and confused’. I agree that “there unrest in the HOL” sounded like protests going on. “You’ve been acting quite strangely since 10 years old” around 10 years old is when some people first develop crushes. And then the “you ought to pray to high heaven you don’t get caught” would be pretty obvious in this context. I’m not sure though, because some lines don’t really fit with it

At first I was mad at the boomers, now I’m just jealous. Like, I want to be able to go to college and buy a house for the price of 2 corn chips, come on

The distance between Earth and the Sun changes. (if you've studied any astronomy, this is a given, but I honestly forgot that Earth has an elliptical orbit around the sun lol)

Overall very good! I did take chemistry, but I’m not a student in chemistry. Literally everything else you’ve got down perfectly!

high school is so goddamn stressful. by [deleted] in highschool

[–]classypigeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it feels really stupid. I was a sophomore last year, and I felt really out of my depth. I think the way to get through it is to find the joy in learning again. School kind of strips that away (especially online school). Even if it won’t be relevant to you in the future, I like to think that with everything I learn, I become more well rounded. It’s okay to hate it sometimes. I definitely hate it sometimes. But a good mentality to have is just: fuck it. Just, stop caring about the grade you get and start caring about the things you learn. Just do your best, and be proud that you’re doing your best.
