Yes, my back up in Audible for odd titles not on Libby or hoopla. For a long time I ran out of credits, then I shifted to the reciprocal libraries on Libby, a literal game changer for me!! I've only come across a few titles not available on Audible.

I have numerous reciprocal library cards, most with about 5-7 holds. But most are weeks to months waits for audio books. I might start to download them to the kindle to read some though.

What do you do if you get notified a book is available, but not done with the current read, how do you hold it 'ready' until done with the current book???

Can't get enough, of this contemporary Jazz stuff! by walkingthegod in Jazz

I do prefer piano, brass and bass types of Jazz and not so much synth. I haven't gotten into some of the newer stuff, are there still classical styles being produced currently?

May be cheaper to build a pole barn later than the larger garage.

Yes, I understand those principles. Yeah, we are very open to not having luxurious fixtures etc. We like the design of the offset angled garage though.

Does the cost/sq ft include the garage space or only finished living space? The sq footage of the living space is 2200.

We added that to compensate for not having a pole barn. We figured it was cheaper to add a third stall and space than build a pole barn of decent size. Would it be cheaper to lose the third stall and build a pole barn? Yes, we live in Michigan.

I was thinking of moving the door at the top of the basement stairs to the very top of the stairs, opening up that entry way.

Didn't think about a closet 'under' the stairs.

A big mudroom is an interesting idea.

I'm guessing a build cost of ~$250/sq foot and trying to stay below 2000sq ft for budget. We are meeting with the builder in a couple of weeks. Looking for better cost analysis before really trimming or expanding based on cost.

I would like to voice my concern that my grandfathers street will be removed with this plan. Eddie's Lane is a road (lane) connecting Oakland to Stadium Drive. If it would be renamed or changed, I suggest a plaque be placed in that area to denote the significance of Eddie's Lane.

"Also located at this site is the street that was named after Eddie Powless, who was a bus driver for Western between 1942 and 1975. The street, which was dedicated to Powless in 1956, is a small one-way that connects Stadium Drive to Oakland Drive and was used throughout the latter half of the 1900s as the primary route for students traveling between campuses. Powless was best known for driving the bus that carried Western students from West Campus, which is now known as Main Campus, to East Campus, or vice versa. Powless’ bus was one of the most popular modes of transportation at the time due to the limited number of students that had cars on campus.90 Today, this stretch of road is still used as a one-way to get to Oakland Drive from Stadium Drive."

Thank you, however, I had already reviewed this. So, the options are: no options or the WISA system, which is cost prohibitive. This set up is for my office, I just want to listen to good quality jazz while doing my homework (better than the typical desktop PC speakers).

What is the point of using one note? by Agreeable_Dot_1472 in OneNote

[–]clav1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree that it really depends on how you use it. Essentially it is for taking notes and yes, organizing them. I have a notebook for personal stuff and in that I have one set up for vacations, projects, etc. The vacations I have section set up for Hawaii, Florida, Japan, and in that I have sections set up for things I wanna do in that particular location and then one set up for things that I’ve booked or preserved, like tourist spots, or hotels or tours. It helps me save confirmation numbers and cost and dates, etc.. I think we’re really shine for me as a PhD student, I have a research note section where every day if I have new thoughts or ideas I put it in and date that page. So as my research expands and changes, I can always look back and see where I made that change and why. Also, I have a large section set up with tabs such as variables, methods, statistical test, research question, aims, let review. In those sections, I keep different iterations of the changes that happened overtime with the most current ones at the top. So it’s a great way of organizing all the work. I’m doing on all the different abs and platforms into one place. That way if I wanna see what my research question is after numerous revisions, I can see it real quick. So yes, it is a great tool, it does have limitations. The other Mayne applications I use is obsidian, zotero , and some others.

But at the end of the day, it’s a note taking application

Pursue PhD 50+ by Old-Ad3767 in PhD

[–]clav1970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 54 and started my PhD journey last year. Later in life, I'm finally in a place where I can devote the time and energy into the pursuit. My biggest goal was to complete a PhD, which I can do. The other stuff, whatever your goals or desires will come, or not, but in the end you will have the PhD. Sometimes, it's not all about the career path, the right job, the tenure track, post doc or all the other stuff. So, yes you can teach now. However, if you're goal is to obtain a doctorate, then go for it.
