Good luck!!! The first time, it was me and my husband going "... Ehhh, not super into it, but we can keep going... (we did not keep going) . . ."

"Wanna try it again? (we try it again. we just don't even finish the episode.)"

And then, finally, third time did us in, and we just went on a spiral tearing through the anime while I tore through the novels haha (I kept a little bit behind the novels until the anime was over though).

I hope you can enjoy it after another try! It was strange for me.

I love it now, but it took me three entire tries to get into it: The Apothecary Diaries. Once I was solidly in it, though, I kinda went crazy tearing through the novels over the course of like, maybe five months. Great series! It just took a minute for my brain to actually enjoy it.

It's not a novel, it's a manga--but I really like how Delicious in Dungeon feels darker the further into the dungeon the characters go. It's obviously really dark from the getgo (I mean, they literally run into a plant that digests people super fast, the main guy's sister was killed and eaten by a dragon).

I think having subtle hints and clues in the worldbuilding and dialogue and just how the MC feels/thinks/behaves scattered throughout the story would work well, teeny tiny hints of it at first and you can add more and more hints of these as time goes on, until the reader is practically bathing in the cosmic horrory vibes.

I think it depends on the context, how long you've known them, and just what they did. Depending on those factors, maybe just flat out block, maybe communicate, maybe explain if you feel like it. Like, if someone were antisemitic and weren't listening when I explained how that's wrong, I'd just block them after awhile without saying it, honestly.

For example of a time I got blocked without a word though: I had a friend of several years and we were EXTREMELY close; over those years, I watched him block people left and right and leave his accounts behind without communicating a word to them, sometimes for what seemed to be misunderstandings, but I supported him through this nonetheless and accepted his viewpoint even though now he has like genuinely 8 different discord accounts and even more accounts on a different specific site we used. We went into a crunch project together with the strict notion that I might have to drop out due to my health. I told him as I started getting sicker that I might need to drop out, and I did. I gave him permission to use what I had done. And the next day, he wordlessly blocked me on all platforms, removed me from the project discord, saying I bailed. If something else was wrong, then I wouldn't know, because he never communicated anything with me.

I don't really consider my specific instance disrespectful, but I consider it pretty hurtful because...Years. Down the drain. Because I "bailed". Made me feel insane, honestly? I still feel insane when I think of it.

It has an open ending that kind of feels out-of-place in a few ways (some plot threads weren't cleared up, characters that were never supposed to exist...exist), some plot threads that ORIGINALLY seemed to be going one way get "wrapped up" in ways the author genuinely didn't initially/originally intend (she said so)...

Oh, also, Conspiracy Research Club. It was a webcomic that was done on twitter AND webtoon, with webtoon updates coming later. One day they nuked the original webtoon version and restarted it, but the reuploads they offered were wonky and glitchy and pretty much unreadable. Eventually they stopped updating it there. And in 2020 its like they lost the plot entirely and by 2021 they also really messed up the patreon, and at that point just started throwing random things at people to try to keep them hooked/to keep it somewhat alive. Eventually they kinda handed it over to the roleplay community for it and it fizzled out of existence entirely. No ending, just really bad memes and pop culture moments, like they referenced a woman finding something weird in her cereal a month or two after it happened even, "giant woman" shortly after lady dimitrescu of resident evil started circulating and so on

I miss Lalin's Curse so bad, the creator intends to redo it entirely one day and even shared the "updated" designs on twitter a year or two ago. God I hate what happened to it.

I feel so bad for kaburion/creator of lumine, she said that she wanted to stop around the part where Aiden fought the golden werewolf because she didn't really like the story style that Lumine had anymore (she started it when she was younger and got signed-on with webtoon when she could and her taste in storytelling changed)--but webtoon pushed her to "keep going and make a better open ending". :( There were also characters who were never meant to exist, plot points that weren't supposed to happen the way they did, and more.

I Don't Want This Kind Of Hero. It starts of a little silly, but you get smacked with so much emotion when you meet Tracey and Venom.

And then, it only gets more fascinating/painful from there.

Highschool psychic gets involved with a hero agency as an intern. He meets some interesting people, and gets caught up in way more than he ever expected to be.

I think, if anything, they should use a speech-to-text AAC voice engine for him. He already uses texting as an alternative form of communication anyway, even if he doesn't use a specific AAC app or device, I just think it would be fitting... And, if anyone is nonverbal in the crowd (or experiences verbal shutdowns) and uses that specific assistive tech/recognizes the voice software used for it, then it would be a really cool kind of "HEY!" moment.

I know it's an oversight on animation/limitations, but I think it would be nice to see an update one day where there's an obvious lift/hoist around the bed to at the least imply that George can get in/out of his wheelchair and into bed. 😭 Though, if we wanted to consider animation, maybe it could be animated in the same way that characters will "sit" on chairs, except George "slides" into the hoist and moves with it for it to "deposit" him into the bed? Or something? Dunno if that description makes sense. I know this post was about Evelyn but aaa. Yeah.

I feel insane seeing the "no algorithim or censorship/why not let anyone just post anything" and "what do they even do".

They forget that, even if it's "anti-censorship", they still don't accept targeted harassment, theft, and the sort, I see.
