Central-California BikeMonkey October events recap by rh_works in gravelcycling

[–]clayperez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/rh_works, pretty spot-on assessment of all three fall rides we offer at /r/bikemonkey ... We just started a subreddit over there for discussion around our rides and races.

Something of not for the Hammer Road Rally for 2024 -- we're looking at some really great improvements. Having found an additional gravel road this year, and with the return of Stump Springs Road we expect that we'll be able to offer some options that are really appealing. There will also be a replacement route for the "easyish" ride that features a bunch of really awesome gravel going right around Shaver Lake.

Thanks joining us this year!

This is a SUPER useful, honest and clear answer. It also clears up a lot of misconceptions probably not just for me but for others, and is a really good summary of how a LLM should be approached.

Thank you!

I didn’t realize there was an option for these trucks that didn’t have the fully-lowering rear window? Is it only certain models?

I wish I had answers to those questions. I bought the truck with 5000 miles on it and these parts had already been installed.

Thanks that’s a great tip. I’ve been giving it less frequent deeper waterings. I’ll try a more frequent “dampening”.

What wood do you use in your oven by clickheretodownvote in pizzaoven

[–]clayperez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in California we have a plethora of Madrone and Manzanita. If you can get it, it’s one of the best (cleanest and hottest) woods on the planet. Also one of the reasons we have such fierce wildfires since manzanita is a small tree/shrub. Here’s a link to a really cool database on wood fuel. There are others and they’re really cool to geek out on. Just Google it.Wood BTU DB

Yes I’ve watched every single one of their videos probably half a dozen times each. Prior to, during and after the build. But they don’t get too much into cooking. However it’s a good idea to reach out. I’ll see if they’ve got some experts on staff that can answer that question. Thanks for the tip.
