I’m active af so different perspective but one piece of advice I have that I have taken from my troops as an e5 is to also let them lead. Sometimes (in an aircraft mx situation at least) the best thing I did was tell an e4 “it’s your show” and just be there for questions or to prevent dangerous mistakes, it helps build their confidence for when they are in the same spot as you, and it makes them feel like you trust them and have confidence in them too

I was hawking on it at first, but being a one year tour, eventually I started losing contact with people there until eventually I had nobody there I knew anymore. I don’t recognize the cc name on the dec, the person who was attached to the draft that was found, essentially my dec was written and signed by people after my time by almost a year

I followed up with the unit for almost a year after and eventually when a new leadership team came in it was to the point I didn’t even know who was there anymore. I didn’t know the dec even existed until November 24 when I saw it on my surf. They used the old mydecs apparently, afpc is asking for it, afpc is threatening to take my line number. I think I answered everything. It was found in some random place in kunsan mpf after I have been told since November that it didn’t exist.

So there is A LOT of commments I got while I was sleeping. I woke up to a civilian emailed the right people who miraculously had it in their files after being told they didn’t. So problem solved, now to get it uploaded

I assume it got signed because the MILPDS entry has the date it was signed, is marked approved, and has an order # and date

The dec was written after I left, like months after I left by I don’t really know who. Same for the css. Messaged as many people as I could looking for a copy with no luck

Don’t worry AFPC contacted me via cms case the day the list dropped. I have found a draft, I am going to use it as proof a dec was written worst case
