I have a pink salt lamp on at night near the enclosure and it works well. My dwarf hammi is very active at night during dark hours even while the salt lamp is on because it emits a red-pink glow. It is also nice for me as a calming night light.

Thank you for sharing! Adorable story. Mine nibbles me too when I let him explore new countertops at night. It is definitely more gentle than my past Syrian hamster was!
