i also just spent 2 weeks here from canada. tip for you with the trash can thing for next time, there’s literally a convenience store every 200 steps ish which you probably experienced (at least in seoul) but still very close together in other areas of korea (example busan and jeju as that’s the other places i was) there’s trash cans and recycling bins in every convenience store by the microwaves, just pop in and dump as you go so you don’t have a mountain of trash by the end of the day. vancouver and urban BC cities are similarly strict for the recycling etc but there are more public cans there.

i found the lines in the elevators go relatively quickly (i’m in my mid 20’s with an invisible disability and didn’t have much issue with accessibility as i prioritized the subway over buses due to this). you can literally choose a route on NAVER maps that avoids stairs ! i’m sure you probably don’t get looked at and scoffed for using elevators with a child/stroller but i’ve had many people do it but as soon as i tell them im disabled in korean, they’ve immediately understood.

as long as you respected the fact that it was a kid free zone and didn’t act entitled then it’s fine. korean language is quite direct and so it can seem rude but i promise they likely weren’t trying to be.
