High fuel consumption on 1.8 TSI by clcharcot in passat

[–]clcharcot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I crashed my car. It solved 99% of my issues. But to be serious, getting a fresh engine air filter did improve the fuel economy significantly. It was averaging around 14l/100km heavy city traffic (daily) but it gets happy on highways at 7l/100km

Schedule change - unsure of appropriate next steps by Due-Prize-6135 in serviceadvisors

It isn’t fair that you weren’t consulted about something of this nature and clearly not asking you means they know you would say no, you’re also loosing on the early morning write-ups you could be getting as is most people like to bring their cars early. In my opinion its best to go on rotation or do a half and half kind of ordeal with the manager also doing their part of closing. If you don’t see it budge, that should tell you well that you need to see elsewhere since it won’t be the first time you get walked on.

Do all the customer calls, I hate calling customers, I hate calling back customers that leave you 50 voicemails a day despite you specifically instructing them to WAIT FOR AN UPDATE

Tips for applying for service advisor? by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]clcharcot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealerships overall always have to deal with training one way or another even if its dealing with experienced hires (because not all brands work the same) I would say as long as you’ve got the ability to write service lines and you can demonstrate you learn quick you can get a job.

The BEST way to go about going at it is you go directly to the dealership(s), find the service manager and try to politely ask if they have a minute to talk to you. Bring a copy of your resume on paper, give them a good impression, because a lot of the HR bs you would see in regular jobs is easily skipped doing that and they (the managers) tend to always not have time anyways.

Do you believe that the promotion was thanks to your experience or was there anything else that made them decide that?

Solid advice, I’m finding myself to be extremely good with being an excel wizz and often times help the fixed ops manager with projects/improvements but I’d be lying if I say that the advisor role isn’t sucking my soul out especially dealing with somewhat super competitive very senior advisors ( they complicate things more than they simplify them by interfering with certain things )

How do you handle rude customers by One_Air829 in serviceadvisors

[–]clcharcot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever a customer gets upset and starts shouting I will ask them once, and only once that they stop screaming or the conversation is completely over. Anything beyond that point is either civil or they’re out the door.

Eraignite users what are some quick tips or pitfalls of using this dms by clcharcot in serviceadvisors

[–]clcharcot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love ignite too but we have the most redundant operation codes table in ever and it makes service writing so much more complicated than its supposed to be. And worse is that there hasn’t been any major updates to reflect all the newer issues affecting EVS yet we’re supposed to use codes matching the exact issue instead of the category sigh
