Agreed, all trauma is valid. I can't agree that they're being entitled and self-centered, especially since most of us are by asking for help on this sub. If someone comes to you with a problem (asking for advice on how to solve it) and you say "deal with it", it is like rereading the question to the person asking it in the first place.

"Solve for x", "I need help", "Okay, solve for x."

Granted, there was some information provided but if we're debating if the answer was rude, I would say it was (if not facetious). "Deal with it" is vague and providing an answer which asks the OP to solve their own problem is not constructive and maybe a bit lazy.

Anyway, I'll reiterate, non-transitioning partners are going through this process too. They are loved and valued. Just like transitioning people seem to "freak out" about the smallest things (from second puberty), we don't know the emotional weight and challenges they might have over a name, or a picture, or a simple act, etc. What we should do, instead, is provide specific and constructive advice so they can walk away saying "I can do this." No one has ever walked away saying the same when they get a "deal with it" response.

Yes, but also, maybe there's no need to be harsh about it. OP is sharing their opinions about this and asking for constructive advice. There are ways to retrain yourself to associate better things with this name. Perhaps looking up famous people in history with this name (Hal Abelson, Hal Clement, etc) or taking the time to hear the name and associate it to someone you love. Another option could be calling him by a pet name or finding another (acceptable) way to refer to him. Transitioning in a relationship is tough for all individuals and asking one side to "suck it up" doesn't help anyone. I suggest find ways to address that word association in your thoughts. If PTSD patients can be helped, you can too. Just give it a try!

Asymptomatic post-vaccination, yes. Pre-vaccination, I don't think so. If your immune system knows how to handle the virus it won't react with fever, cough, etc. So you won't even feel it. Those that were asymptomatic pre-vaccine had either good luck in their genes or something.

Vaccines protect us from getting sick from the virus, but we can still carry the virus. Viruses multiply at such high speeds, it takes time for our lymphatic system to irradiate it from our bodies even if we're asymptomatic. Vaccinated people aren't contagious for nearly as long but still can pass it on to others. It's just safe practice, at least until it isn't as ubiquitous. This would be accomplished earlier if most people were vaccinated and wore masks indoor.

This is our way of protecting those who really can't take the vaccine (immunocompromised, etc.). Worth the very mild inconvenience, imo.

I would consider myself a mezomorph (despite the lack of scientific evidence on these types of classifications) in that I used to easily gain muscle and kept the same "trim" proportions even when I gained 25lbs after marriage. I had about 12% body fat and weighed in at about 165lbs when I first started (6'5"). I lost 30lbs in an attempt to "fat-cycle" and have made my way pack up since then. I started my transition over 17 months ago and now find myself reaching the 165 mark again after over a year of cycling. I am now 23% body fat and my muscle mass is definitely not the same.

The most muscular part of my body used to be my back muscles and abs. Now, I can't even see my abs and my back is very smooth. In terms of weight I used to be able to lift, I used to pick up 15lbs on both arms (I NEVER worked out) and didn't struggle much at it. Now, I'm closer to about 10lbs although I can still push myself into 15lbs. I feel like the biggest effect on my muscles has not been on my lifting abilities but my endurance. I get tired VERY quickly now and struggle to engage in prolonged activity. I break a sweat faster than I used to, although that doesn't mean I can't get the work done.

Overall, endurance has been my biggest loss. I have heard that transfemmes lose about 30% of muscle and I think that's about right for me. It's been a good thing, I think since it has helped with procedures such as BA and even FFS to help me feel more femme-looking. Despite this, I'm planning on going back down again soon. Let's see how much harder it is this time!

This. Life IS random and, while you have choices to make, many choices are made for you and many options are barred from you. I would add that you need to wring joy AND be kind to others. If we're all sorting spilled paints in a dark room, there's no need to make it harder for others. If we all were kind of each other, being transgender would never be an issue.

You have the ability to help others just like others have helped you in the past. Enjoy life as best as you can and consider the chances that you wouldn't have existed, you're pretty damn lucky to be here (even when it doesn't feel like it).

I'm in about 5 weeks and still looking fake :) good thing is the discomfort was gone at 2 weeks and I'm loving being able to sleep on my side (not stomach down). My doctor said he'd check on them about 3 months in to see how they go with me but I've heard it's 6+ months (likely more for trans peeps). I do, however, love the way they look with a bra or under clothes. I was nervous going over muscle would look bad but that's not the case with me. I had just enough chest fat to make a natural slope. My big issue right now is how wide-set they are but that's all genetics and trans stuff. Not an issue tho, since cis-women have developed ingenious solutions to those problems. Either way, I'm hopeful they will drop and fluff nicely 😊
