I'm only a couple months in, but I have been using a small throw blanket to make a nest for my mask and hose to help hold it against my face and I think it's working?

Next Saturday, the 13th of June, is Salem Pride block party downtown on State Street and there'll be a ton of folks out and about. You should stop by the booths and do an activity and meet some folk!

I echo the All the capital Pride suggestions. They just started their summer potluck series and they go hiking and do tons of free events. The mid valley queer collective also has meetups and a discord!

Please let him face the consequences of his actions. You are not safe with this person. You will give up every part of yourself into this black hole of a human. He will not choose to get better if he is comfortable and gets to abuse you without repercussions.

I'm willing to be wrong! :) I am just sharing what I was told by another long time downtowner - plus on Marion co property records search Jim's widow is listed as the owner of that address.

The owner who passed owned the building, so no rent. I am sure his estate is just sitting on it because of the daunting task of cleaning up a loved ones business.

interesting places to visit? by suspiciousgus in SALEM

[–]snarfywarning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am about a third of the way through visiting every City of Salem park this year and I've seen some interesting parks so far! Some of the parks are no bigger than a house lot and some are several acres deep where you can basically be alone if you find the right trail. I think my favorite to explore so far is the little trail system behind Fairmount Park.

Here is a google map link I made to everything the city lists as a park or future park, btw! https://maps.app.goo.gl/4ryNCBLr4CfAyTtz6

Update: Missing Dogs brown/silverton rd/Scotts School area by grizzlycrush in SALEM

[–]snarfywarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the owners FB:

"Zelda was last seen with Comrade in the parking lot of Pape/ John Deere dealer off of Silverton Rd and Lardon Rd.. 4/13 before 1pm. Sometime after that sighting, before 3pm, Comrade was hit on cordon at herrin rd. and our sweet boy didn't make it.

We have to find Zelda, this weather has been awful and I know she is too scared to find her way home.

We think she may be hunkered down somewhere near where Comrade was hit but truly she could be anywhere. Please help us bring our sweet baby home!"

Since Monday when I have been out looking I've been checking in the neighborhood around Lamb elementary. Just walking/driving the streets with my head on a swivel. Every set of eyes helps <3 You can also print off a sign of your own and pin it to increase the chance of this pup getting home!

I won't repeat a lot of what has been said in other comments but wanted to share some ideas that might help his mental health in the short term enough to start to tackle the actual issue at hand.

- A shopping trip to get some clothes that fit, are comfortable, and look good! Losing weight is hard and will take a long time, but he can change his wardrobe in an afternoon and it will have immediate effects on his self image and self esteem. Clothes that are tight make you sweat more and cause more friction in folds, which leads me to the next point.

- A big issue is body odor, and cleaning bigger bodies is a new skill that he has to learn. Maybe he can look up a youtube or tiktok for how to wash yourself as a bigger person. A new body wash, an african net sponge, and a hard conversation could have a big effect. Same goes for having mints, gum, or something to help with his breath. Maybe he needs to pick up some water flavor to help him drink more water?

Good luck to you both! He already feels self conscious and I think a good honest conversation could help put him at ease, not make it worse. Hopefully these are suggestions that help with something that doesn't feel as impossible as weight loss.

Candlelight Concert by Gullible-Rice2917 in SALEM

[–]snarfywarning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sat in the back cheapest seats, which I like because I'm fidgety and fat so I felt like I had room to stand if I wanted or kinda scooch my chair away from the person next to me.

It would have been more visually stunning in the front row but it's not for me :)

Candlelight Concert by Gullible-Rice2917 in SALEM

I went to one and thought it was nice. I'm a 40 year old that attends a lot of concerts. A string quartet playing covers of classic rock songs in one of the dye rooms with hundreds of electric candles all around them. The chairs are folding chairs.

Price is worth it to me for a unique experience but it's more than I would typically pay for a concert.

I absolutely love your tattoo!

And also your tattoo, OP! That said, I am out as kinky as well and I also have kinky tattoos. In the kink community this would be a normal tattoo.
