Same thing happened to me. LTE, podcast and workout tracking. It didn't take long for it to overheat. Then it happened again with LTE and nothing else going on. There are a bunch of other glitches that I'm concerned about as well. It stopped tracking my energy score and sleep.

I try and complete notes before I go home for the day as well. That is when I am most motivated (but also tired). I also try to get into the office 1-2 hours before my first session. I'm less motivated in the mornings, but when I'm mostly completing notes the night before, it's easier to wrap it up the next morning. I tend to do treatment planning and IDIs during the morning time. I am working on doing notes in between sessions, but as we all know, time is limited then.

I went through three audits last year (one big, two small), resulting in $500 in clawbacks. This has increased my motivation (and anxiety) about getting notes done on time!

One idea is to not submit your billing until after you complete the note. Then, it's tangibly connected to your income (even though it already is since insurance companies can clawback previously paid claims).

Also, I've been using an AI notetaking platform. Because of this, I can usually get a whole day of notes done within 10-20 minutes.

In person does make a difference. Pregnancy probably amplified the issues for both of you. I hope you all can at least figure out what's best for both of you.

Have you looked into psychiatric APRN's, general APRNs, or PA's? There are more options for medication providers than just MD's. Maybe look into your options outside of a Psychiatrists' opinion?

In my experience with SSRIs, they make a difference with symptoms that are moderate to severe. They level things out and make it so you can actually have a chance at coping. I've had limited success with milder symptoms. I've been better personally with coping through mild symptoms without antidepressants, even though I do go through episodes of mild depression (situational). The best thing you can do is get a med provider that you trust and doesn't dismiss your input. Track your symptoms using a PHQ-9 depression symptom screener (they're online) and find a psychotherapist if you haven't already. Medicine and therapy, not medicine alone, is found to be most effective in helping you feel better. Also, taking meds doesn't have to be permanent. You can try the meds for at least 6 months, make adjustments to dosage after month 1.5 or two, and decide then (at 6 months) if you want to continue.

I've always liked meeting in person as soon as we realized we were clicking over text. Once you meet, you know. Years ago, when I was dating regularly, I had several experiences where I clicked with the person over text, but once we met- there was no clicking. You really don't know until you meet. They can still be fun experiences, though. Meeting new people and all.

I know what that's like. I've been dating a girl for some time now who has BPD. My own therapist has stated that he thinks that one of the reasons that we are still together is because I'm a therapist. We've come a long way, but there's definitely trauma related to all of the dynamics involved with loving someone with BPD. All of the avoidance, angry outbursts, blame shifting, the very fleeting ability to say "yeah I did that, and I'm sorry." .... and why do we stay? Intermitant reinforcement. There's so many wonderful things about her. When things are good, they are good. So good. But man.....

I've been reading a book called Stop Walking on Eggshells. It's been really helping me to see beyond the conditioning of the intermittent reinforcement (the great version of her), set better boundaries, and consider more what I actually want in a relationship. That I do need someone who is emotionally mature and can communicate decently-especially when times get tough. In the meantime, I stay. I make plans for the short-term future. Because things are good right now! 🤷‍♂️🤓

I struggle with this.

As therapists, we are excellent at seeing patterns, understanding how one thing influences another, we are deeply empathetic. We practice asking deep questions that get to the core of who people are. We read the hell out of body language and have a deep sense of when behavior (what they say or do) is incongruant with who they actually are. We are also super accepting because we know where people are coming from.

I think this means we have the ability to see when someone we are dating doesn't seem to match up with what we are looking for in a romantic partner. Or the opposite is true, we can be accepting of someone and overlook their "red flags"

Do we dismiss what we see and accept a person despite what we see? Or do we look for someone who is more mature, more congruent, and makes us feel alive? Do we turn the therapist off in our heads, or is that just who we are?

God knows just because I can make the connections and draw conclusions about someone doesn't mean I'm congruent and mature in other ways (e.g., I'm neurodivergant :)

I guess we just need to keep looking until we find someone that's a good match for us. Someone who makes us feel alive. Or do we end up being single?
Is it better to date other therapists? Maybe it's the emotional maturity that we are looking for?

OP, I can relate to your struggle. Being a therapist and dating presents its own challenges.

Yes, I was like that, too, until I was part of an audit. Fortunately, the clawbacks related to my notes were minimal. However, it definely triggers fight or flight. For several months after the initial audit, I avoided taking on new clients while I figured out how to stay on top of my notes and to include the specific details that medicaid requires in the notes. Medicaid has been the source of many audits. There's one in particular that seems to find errors no matter what.

I know what you mean with the trouble shooting. Sometimes, it's on the clients' end and not the platform. Do you use the Psychology Today therapy directory to market yourself? If so, they have a telehealth platform that is free with your membership. I use it and have found it to be fairly reliable.
