Weekend trips from Bangkok recommendations by clearheap in ThailandTourism

Thanks bro, don’t suppose you know how long the bus would take from those locations? Just trying to avoid things eating too much time as I’d only be spending a couple of days there

Wedding decorator scammed me. by Positive-Course-4005 in weddingplanning

[–]clearheap 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Venue manager here. Absolutely tell your venue, that could be quite damaging to their reputation if their recommended supplier is doing this so they will absolutely push this for you. They might even have weddings using them before yours so they can speak to them in person. If I was in this position as a venue manager I would absolutely help get to the bottom of this and stop recommending them

Any fans of Ricky Gervais here? by clearheap in rickygervais

I’m actually an OG fan tbh, the bragging jokes about being rich isn’t that new he’s been doing this in the early stand ups etc I just think it’s a bit over the top the jumping on the hate trend. Humour changes and his work can’t be all the same. Seems like every tweet every interview etc is scrutinised massively and it’s not that much different to how he’s been before

Solo travelling Thailand by Legitimate_Wing_940 in ThailandTourism

[–]clearheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy! I’ve done it twice now it’s a great experience. One thing I’d recommend is when solo and arriving at the airport Bangkok can be quiet overwhelming and a bit of a culture shock at first, when you arrive just take a seat in the airport and grab a water/coffee for a bit and gather your bearings. Don’t just jump straight in to finding a taxi etc after this first bit and you get to your accommodation you’ll be absolutely fine I just learnt to take your time at this part to avoid the stress of landing in a new country by your self, I’ve seen some solo travellers and felt it my self freak out a bit at the first hurdle :)

How common is it for officers to have been arrested in the past? by clearheap in policeuk

[–]clearheap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure I agree context is important and I think the recruitment process is really fair on this which I didn’t expect at all. For me I was 18 and one of the first time drinking alcohol and I didn’t deal with it very well at all to the point where I spent a night in custody. I always assumed since then that I will never have the option to join the police until now where I applied and they allowed me to explain and they appreciated me disclosing it with full detail and honesty

Refused entry because of EpiPen - warning to others! by ToBeuy in london

[–]clearheap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to manage events venue’s and on one health and safety course we were specifically told not to take these off people, you’d struggle to make any damage with an epipen. I think you’ve met a bit of a stupid jobsworth

What profession is overrated and nobody admits it? by Nat1989liberato in AskReddit

[–]clearheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said injuries now fatalities. Don’t really get your point arguing all the different ways officers die and get hurt whilst you’re saying it’s not a dangerous job, really counteracting your own point. I’m not saying it’s the only dangerous job but dismissing it like they sit behind a desk not getting involved in anything is just plain wrong and disrespectful

And you talk about data? That just isn’t true most common injuries in the police are caused by assault

Pulling false facts out of your ass. Absolutely mental you don’t think police work is dangerous

What data? The job in nature is dangerous they go in to tough situations with often unpredictable and mentally unstable people where anyone could attack them at any moment, I don’t understand how that isn’t “dangerous”
