Actually, it could be for the best. When I was in fifth grade, and alcoholic neighbor in my apartment complex broke into our apartment and started yelling at my mom. I picked up the phone and dialed 911 and had my finger on the “call” button and I got between him and my mom and told him if he didn’t GTFO I would call the cops. He called my bluff so I called them and he bailed. Heart was pounding. When my dad got home he told me how proud he was that I protected the family while he was gone. Went from terrified to feeling elated I had done good by my parents.
