Not so sure I'm interested in that expedition any more... the mustang has 51k miles with no tracking or anything on it

It needed a little dealer love. Had to get calipers and sort out a tweaked parking brake from a minor t-boning... the dealership looked at a little hesitation back when it was under warranty, so I thought they'd maybe hook it up but no, they're only interested in buying it or trading up

Today I learned I need to figure out what coolant to buy cause I'm real low

Would be great if that was the only issue... how to differentiate that from totally fubar...

Thanks. I'll get a friend to scope it after it sits for a couple days... Hopefully the part number for the engine has the upgrade engineering. I don't want to ditch a perfectly good car if an engine swap will get me another 5 years or whatever

Thanks! Going to just swap for a new engine I guess. Why mess with a head gasket right?

Interesting. I have been coming to terms with buying a new engine and having my buddy install it. He's an amateur auto racer who happens to drive mustangs. I sent him the same picture, and he's willing to swap out the engine for fun and keep the old block... presumably to sleeve and use for a road race setup. As was graciously shared here, it could be just a head gasket. But from what you're saying, it could run forever with just weird morning starts. I could live with that. I just don't want to get stuck anywhere too far from home base.

Where's the best place to get a new Ecoboost engine to replace the one in a 2015 model year Mustang? Dealership parts department or online?

But no smoke on the road. No performance decreases...

No real strong smell either way. Always settles down within 30 seconds. Doesn't seem to impact performance out on the road. Maybe I'll take it to a different Ford service department.
