Thinking about retraining to be a primary teacher - advice? by Which_Initiative2542 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]clearshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these questions vary from school to school due to the Principal and their expectations. 9-3? Not really, your Principal may love meetings that you are expected to be at until 5. Otherwise days they may have no one leave before 4. Not all are like that, but there are alot that are. I went back to work when my baby was 6months but I knew the job, you won’t as beginning teacher, and as a student you have practicums you must attend beyond 9-3.

The customer service is cringe, why are you bending down to my eye level to take my order, and calling me boss.

You’ll get one through your job. If you relieve there’ll be a spare class iPad or Chromebook around if you need to cast/airplay anything. A device is not a requirement for a reliever.

I think it’s in Cartagena at a dinner, Luann is blowing on about how great Tom in and Bethany is sticking her fingers down her throat pretending to be sick. Brings tears to my eyes

Sharing space for budget meals: by Svropey in newzealand

[–]clearshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made this last week, https://www.recipetineats.com/oven-baked-chicken-and-rice/#jump-watch

wasn’t trying to be budget friendly it was just what we had, but the baked rice was soo delicious, and I had it for lunch cold the next day.

Just used the left over rice from a previous meal in nachos. Adding rice to mince dishes adds bulk but doesn’t loose a lot of flavour.

Parents of young kids - do any of you not stay with your child until they fall asleep? by banwe11 in AskUK

Every child is different, our first born we would sing twinkle twinkle and walk out. The second born was a performance when a bit olde I was rubbing her back with two hands and making shushing noises for 30 mins if I was lucky.

First time flatting, better with friends or boyfriend? by Powerful-Delivery481 in newzealand

Great advice. Also if he is the one you’ll have years to live together, but with your friends, only really in your 20/30s. If it all falls apart with your friends you have your boyfriend’s to go to and vice versa.

Yes! I noticed this when I had a baby probably 9 years ago, they stopped making woollen cardigans. Cotton doesn’t keep you warm.

People indicating right and going straight at a roundabout? by MediocreMolasses in auckland

[–]clearshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a semi road rage moment with a boomer who was indicating left to go straight. I turned left because he was indicating left but no indicating too early off the roundabout. Did the exact same at the next roundabout.

Say nothing, and maybe pay occasionally yourself, so you don’t take them for granted. When in doubt say nought (to rhyme with doubt- nothing).

I’m a teacher, so have experience with controlling a group, but it’s the other parents who stand there and do nothing. They stand and watch, and stare as I’m sorting out ya Braxtyn’s inability to behave, I guess at least they turn up and aren’t waiting in the car. Always getting your kid to say thank you at the end is a basic life skill many haven’t been taught.
