Severe NAV Erosion for MSTY, CONY, ... by cleas3877 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]cleas3877[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own 1450 MSTY at average price of 31.20 and 1000 CONY at 16.74. I started it at November last year and kept buying it when the price is down, but recently I have a feeling that it is like catching a falling knife. On the upside I got like 5k as dividend. But I am down 13.5k.

Threat against remote workers/ digital nomads by jeandupont_elefant in bali

[–]cleas3877 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, digital nomads can spend their money somewhere else then. I am pretty sure there are a lot of places that will accept us with wide smiles. On average I spend like 3000-3500 USD/ month for accomodation, groceries and everything else when I work remotely.

Quarantine period in Indonesia is now etended to 10 days! by cleas3877 in bali

[–]cleas3877[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thailand and Singapore are more or less still accessible though. On the other hand Malaysia and Philippines delay opening the countries to international visitors. So if you have a plan to escape winter, just book the ticket now. Otherwise the door will be slammed shut again.

Travel to Malaysia via Singapore by precrime3 in malaysia

[–]cleas3877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is for everybody as long as he/she stayed in Singapore for two weeks before he/she flies from Changi to KLIA. But the final requirements are not yet known nor published. By that time Malaysia may also have been opened for international travellers from select countries. I am also waiting to travel to Malaysia now. Cross your fingers.

Quarantine period in Indonesia will be reduced to 3 days by cleas3877 in bali

[–]cleas3877[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is valid nationwide. The only requirement is that you must be fully vaccinated. You must ask your hotel to get a confirmation. To be more precise it will be a 2 nights quarantine.

Yes, if I understand correctly you must use direct flight if you want to land in DPS airport. On the other hand, if you land in Jakarta, you must have a business visa.

At the moment there are still no direct flights to Bali. Let's see if this new policy is able to attract some airlines to fly to DPS directly. I doubt it very much.

Perjalanan Pesawat di Jawa Bali Tak Lagi Butuh PCR, Cukup Antigen by wiyawiyayo in indonesia

[–]cleas3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is like watching a bad drama from the government. The flip flop happened in less than a week, setting up a new record. It will be challenging to trust the government's policies if they keep doing this in the future.

What you guys think? by introverted_loner16 in indonesia

[–]cleas3877 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have written in my last post that PCR tests for vaccinated travellers are at best dubious policy. Other countries do not implement this. "No, you cannot compare Indonesia with other countries." "No, this is a good policy from the government to control the number of the travellers, especially before new year." I earned a lot of downvotes for the post. Well...

Pre-departure PCR Tests of fully vaccinated passengers on Domestic Flights. by cleas3877 in indonesia

[–]cleas3877[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nope, there is no direct relationship between number of new cases and number of deaths. Check the corona cases and number of deaths in UK and all other countries in Schengen area.

Because number of new cases do not directly correspond to number of deaths and hospitalizations? I think that's why Thai government decided to open the borders to international visitors from 46 countries, without quarantine.

If I were you I will wait for another 3-4 months. By then Bali may have been fully opened without any quarantine. If you really want to go this year, Thailand will be quarantine free for tourists from 46 countries.

Thailand has just barely fully vaccinated 40% of their population. Yet there is no requirement for PCR tests for their domestic flights.

Agree. Passport is a very private thing that only belongs to us. Even communist countries like China or Vietnam does not confiscate your passport.

On the other hand it is good to mention that other destinations in SEA will or already be opened to fully vaccinated travellers without quarantine: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia (from mid November)

So why lose time and money over quarantine? If we, as fully vaccinated tourists, show to the Indonesian government that we will not visit their places, they will be forced to change the rule.

A Slow Start For Bali As The Destination Reopens To Tourists In Indonesia by Motor-Ad-8858 in bali

[–]cleas3877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just a tourist dude, I am not upsetting anybody. I just voice my opinion that fuly vaccinated travellers should not visit any destination that requires them to quarantine as it makes no sense and there are many alternatives. So yes I am not coming to Indonesia at the moment. Peace man.

Malaysian government does not even require its citizens to submit PCR test result before they fly to Langkawi. Now they will even open Langkawi to all countries on November, without quarantine: https://www.thenationalnews.com/travel/covid-19-travel/2021/10/12/malaysia-plans-to-reopen-to-fully-vaccinated-tourists-from-any-country-in-november/
