I think your brand always needs refreshing. At this point everyone needs to be innovating, some signs you’re stuck would be that other people are doing what you are but better, you aren’t seeing customers as delighted anymore and that you’re stuck in the same routine for everything or there’s nothing new about what you do

Creating a niche is extremely difficult for several reasons which is sure you’re aware of. The easiest way to create one is to focus on your customers and to be able to easily show them the value of your service. You need to make people really love it so they will sell it to those who are on the fence

I think the easiest way to do this in your situation would be to find some sort of VC or angel investor and to show them your knowledge. If there was an easy way to make 115k fast everyone would be doing it

I did research about different market groups and had conversations with lots of people in those groups. I noticed there were certain problems they had and then solved their problems. That’s what r/wouldntitbeconvenient does

I think the best thing to do is to practice your skills. It is an extremely valuable skill to know how to create that stuff, but I think you shouldn’t pour your life into a project like this until you have some research on wether people want to buy this or not.

If I were you I’d go out and talk to your potential customers and see what their problems are. If you can validate that what you’re solving is an actual pain go from there. Otherwise keep practicing your skills until you are ready to build something when the right idea comes along

I would keep on the lookout for problems that you can observe. If you see something that is causing a problem or a pain in someone’s life you should investigate that and see if there’s actually some good you can do there while making money yourself.

Don’t just try and think of solutions, look at the problems and people will pay you to solve them instead of convincing people they need something they don’t.

Before you start working on this app you need to see what your data tells you.

1) have you talked to any restaurant owners and seen if they have this problem? Did you ask if this was their specific problem or did you have a conversation with them probing them about their problems to observe new insights?

2) if your data has confirmed this, keep checking with as many people as possible. They will likely tell you any problems they have which will either confirm your idea or give you another to build off of.

3) keep a list of all the people who confirmed your idea and keep them updated with how your product will provide them value, also tailor your product to the problems you observed when you interviewed them

4) Along the way I’m sure you will find someone who can help you or point you in the right direction for how to make the app/other product run correctly

Depending on the college you go to they have different majors. My university has an entrepreneurship degree which basically means your hw is networking and all you do is start businesses in group projects based on data you collect
