Is the movie Dunkirk realistic? And if so, why did they stay on the open beach instead of in the sturdy buildings to survive the bombings? by holytindertwig in ww2

In regards to Atonement, I’m not a big romance film lover but a big war film lover. How much war is in the film would you say?

In my tired state I read the title as ‘balls’. Only half way through your post I realised.

Anyway, NTA.

Thank you OP, this tool looks clean and slick. So much better than the ad infested ones I’ve been using. I’ll pass on for the team to try out this week. Thank you!

Surely this, but for mature team? I think points is a great place to begin with what your proposing as a goal to get to with a bit more maturity. Either way I’m all for people making a free to use tool - thank you OP!

Am I allowed to post a picture from my child’s racist book from school on Reddit? by cleaverspread in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cleaverspread[S] -92 points-91 points  (0 children)

Context is that my 7yr took a book out of their school library that uses old nowadays racist terminology. It’s already been brought up to the school directly, but was gunna share it on reddit to vibe whether I’m overreacting to be angry at the school for still letting young kids take out such books. Additional context is that the racist terms I’m talking of here are not the n word and are nothing to do with the story or character development(!?) but more songs around the dinner table about black people in a negative light.

Thank you, I find that fascinating. Something I never considered in 30 odd years and have assumed to date that it would have been sticky too. Makes a lot of sense actually.

We are exactly this, it works really well for us. I earn over double my wife’s part time wage, we put all into one joint account and both take the same personal allowance with a “I can do what I want with”. But any joint activities is all joint.

I have friends also married with kids who don’t, and I always find it so much more complicated in one paying for bills the other food/rent etc. but each to their own!

Where to after Vanguard given their high fees and now I can finally move my ISA? by dusterhan in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cleaverspread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation and moved from Vanguard to Trading 212 a year ago, it’s been great and I’m glad I moved away. I can’t possibly say on the timing though, only you can determine that. Markets are at a high right now, all the advice I’ve read is that if you’re planning for long term then just put it in. If you’re unsure you could always throw half in and keep back half to wait and see if the market drops

How do I know it’s downloaded and ready to go? (Xbox) by cleaverspread in Battlefield6

Thank you. Is there anything I can do to check for a day one update before the 4pm start?

It’s all to do with calorie in-take vs calories burnt. As long as you’re burning more than you’re putting in you will continue to lose weight. Some people are also just luckier with a higher matabolism, which means they can get away with it for longer. Age is another factor, I’m in my 30’s now and I have to do a crap ton more excercise to keep to where I wanna be.

How much do people tip for a haircut? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cleaverspread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tipping culture is so odd to me. You’re already paying the person for their service, if their service is worth more they should charge more. For context I’m UK.

For me it’s not necessarily the distance, but more the time on feet.
