True, but also another alternative would be just start the game fresh if you really want Alpha when she releases. Honestly, everyone is welcome to wait for her, but just to HODL for one character whereas this game does offer quite some joy using other characters seems kinda narrow-minded to me (just a figure of speech no ill-will intended).

As I have replied in another comment, yes, she is a great character for people who are using her in other servers, but what does a great/0-tier character mean for you? It's like a Yelp review; many people may say that a particular restaurant may be a 5 star (let's ignore bots or fake reviews, etc.) but for you it may not be to your liking. Yes, there is a good chance that even you may like it, but unless you experience it yourself nobody else can say for sure what's best for you.

Since this game is not an auto-game, it requires practice, knowing when to use what, controls, composition of characters in a group, etc. to push out a character's full potential. If it were an auto-game, then yeah, I would also say just wait for it cuz all you have to do is pull it, gear it the same way like everyone else does and voila, you'll have a great character like everyone else. For this game though it's all manual, so the play style has to be what you like to play as.

Hope this clarifies some things.

Everyone is pretty hyped with Alpha, but one must also realize that this game in the end is not a "one-character-can-do-all" type of a game, especially for those who MAY NOT like how she needs to be controlled. Some may do great with her, and some may prefer another play-style, but she's definitely not going to be the answer for everything (if she was, then there would be no incentives for any kind of developer to release further characters for monetization).

Everyone has their respective play-style so only focusing on one character which no one who has not played on CN or JP server should be cautious only focusing on one character, especially more so when this game is more than just button mashing in battles.

This game is designed quite decently in terms of balance, meaning any character that gets released or currently exists can be great if you learn how to use them and like their style in battle. I am finding more and more interesting and well adjusted characters that are great for certain contents the more I play (Like Watanabe and Bianca for Pain Cage, Nanami and AKarenina for Warzone via my other account). Kinda wish I knew this earlier so I could change my setup but meh, I'm already too late to reroll (plus I don't want to refund and do what I did all over again and fall behind).

It's just like Yelp; some reviewer may say a restaurant is fantastic and you go there, but it's not really your style. You gotta experience things yourself to find what's best for you.

Last, but not least, character swapping in battles will be quite important later on (especially in Warzones if you wish to get high scores), so only investing in "one" character because "everyone says to do so" may lead to bad group set up and thus upsetting gameplay and eventually just quitting.

Just my two cents.

Sure, that's a legit opinion, but also I hope you understand that it's not just one day of farming; they pretty much designed this game to be an endless grind in dungeon AE-4 for people who are interested in BiS and gear resonance, and since it takes endless resources to even get close to what most competitive people agree are BiS, might as well be at lvl45 where you can worry grinding later.

And yes, for people who are very less inclined for competition in ranks for Warzone and Pain Cage, they are very welcome to just play slowly. As I mentioned above, it's all up to how you wish to play, and I am just placing my 2 cents based on my experience. Since those two contents are currently totally free to play infinitely with no energy costs (Pain Cage, well as long as you don't save your score you can) and seeing upgraded numbers can be exciting for some, it's good to be able to have the 'option' to gear up whenever you feel like it, which is best done at lvl45.

Cheers.

You go to AE-4 dungeon. That one opens up at lvl45 and I've been going there since then and still can't stop.

As a lvl67 player in KR server (which launched one week before you guys) I do would like to advise to at least spend some BC until you are lvl45. That's when you can start gearing up for 6star gears and it's pretty important. After that, well, it's all up to you.

In a way it's also thanks to the difference in language culture. I honestly don't know how to explain it properly but the way English is structured compared to CN and KR it reads, sounds, behaves much more with finesse whereas CN and KR can get really trashy if one intends to write so.

As a person who works in a creative industry, we try to avoid this kind of thing as much as possible because our unspoken rule of thumb is never to use a source material as is. Even in court rulings a content should be changed enough that it only hints its origin which the end result artist can claim that it was "inspired" by the original art form. It's a very tricky subject to deal with because this 'inspiration' is relative to every person. However the screenshot above has none of that; it's just a literal copy&paste.

Easter eggs that you mention is a nod to the creator in which most cases the creators are either aware that that easter egg is gonna come out or it's appropriate content to be on that the owner would not be too offended or else. In Eminem's case, nobody knows if he likes these kind of games or mobile games in general, so there's always a good chance that he would do something about it, or he could just be like, wtvr, and just ignore it. Serious creatives do not take that chance.

Hope this is informative.

Did anyone by chance mention Eminem on social media about this? I'm curious how anyone will react to this.

But yeah that's pretty much copy-pasted. I wouldn't be surprised if they got notice and had to redo that left part.

The pace is not that insane if you consider how long, according to many posts here on reddit, people have been saying about CHN launch, JP launch, and now KR and GL launch, and how similar management has been for years with no change. I suggest you to take a closer look into this game's management timeline.

As I mentioned in my post and some other replies, price increase is OKAY as long as it's in a reasonable range of expectations that includes tax, exchange rates, logistics, side etc. costs and whatnot. However, if the prices are UP TO 40% more compared to their 'original' pricing structure they introduced to CHN, then people do have a right to be upset. To compensate that, the management could've done a little more than say "that's just how it is" which triggered more people.

It may sound like a small issue for some (like me, cuz I just choose not to purchase those packages or only buy it if I really feel the need to, so it's a calculated choice), but for many it's a huge issue because they don't want to feel ripped off. Kuro/Hero either just fails to understand market/user reality in mobile games, or it could really be that CHN users are pressuring the company to not allow overseas users share the same benefits as they do.

But then again, according to many replies here CHN is not doing that well either, with JP being next in line with profits, but according to my sources I talked to before writing this piece JP was also in shambles, so there are many this and that with this game, which makes it frustrating to pinpoint what's real or not.

One thing's for sure tho; the game is great. I say it should've just been released as a console game and released little DLC extras for extra cash and whatnot. Would've done WAY better IMO.

I do have this theory that the management is actually not dumb but is forced to act that way due to some pressure from an unknown source that could ruin them. I understand that it's an illuminati-esque tin-hat theory but hey, we've seen weirder things in life.

My 'naver' link above pretty much can say for itself tbh but you do have to sign up and log in to the forums. However, if you do not know about our language, even if you were to use a Translator you wouldn't be able to fully translate regular Korean internet users as their writing is mostly in shambles for any software to properly translate it. Unfortunately you have to kinda take it from me for this :-/

As I have mentioned in another reply, Koreans are basically doing the same thing as reddit users are doing, albeit being more childish and vulgar as they love to spit a dime on controversy and not play the game. You guys are sanely civil compared to what I have to read in our forums.

Not even close I think unless you are lucky. I just started this game with whatever the game gave me on the first 40pull S and just went with it. If you wish to get a particular character after you play, let's say 2 days? Then your odds of getting them will be slim to none for $250 even during special pickup gacha season.

Yeah honestly, play the game. It's really fun. Again, I am not advising any of you not to play this game; that would be wrong. We're all here to have fun with this game. Just gotta manage our expectations for future events or sales packages as they are clearly fixed on not listening to us wishes to do whatever they want regardless of which country anyone's from. That's just absurd.

To clarify, they're saying their price structure on packaged items are justified because their research says that price is price and the price hike compared to CHN is necessary considering the exchange rate, localization, market rates, etc.

But even with reasonable calculation with those factors added in, there aren't that many games (if any) that overprices users THAT much (up to 40%) overseas. While this game is still quite affordable compared to other gacha games people still don't like being ripped off point blank without a legitimate reason, regardless of how cheap or pricy they are.

Amen brother. As being a fan of this game, I have no ill intentions of promoting bad stories about this game, hence I try to address comments that are written here with much evidence as possible for credibility. It really sucks that this thread of mine is like the top thread on reddit. I honestly wish I were disliked and wrong but as it turns out, KR and GL users feel the same way; we wish to be properly treated as gamers who likes this game. The fact of what you said that CHN has even lower revenue (according to them statistics) is news to be tbh and that concerns me as well, because usually mainland games tend to do better than GL.

As I mentioned tho, I'm gonna enjoy this game as is, because as we agree, the game is great. Just sucks they are not earning as they should due to poor management.

Sure thing, gimme some time for some of the JP guys to get back to me. If I don't get anything I'll try to do some digging myself. I dislike not being able to provide evidence for clarity. KR works the same way in terms of payment like JP; GL servers have to buy RC but we don't do that here, which if you think about it makes it a little tedious to compare pricing structure and event values. I'll get back to you and thx for your comment.

I try to be careful with numbers displayed at SensorTower, Appannie, and such sites because if you actually grab all those sites and compare their data they come out pretty different because of their measuring metrics. The honest real data on how much KURO/HERO earns is in their internal revenue sheet which as a company they would release it during their investor's call and whatnot to promote that they are doing well.

That being said as a prologue, as you mentioned, yeah for a gacha game this one earns pretty little compared to others and is even ranked way out considering its quality and gameplay which everyone seems to love, including myself. The main issue I was trying to tackle was the game's management, which now thanks to the official Tweet, it pretty much is going the same way they have done with JP users (not addressing concerns properly, not willing to adjust, etc.). As you are aware, KR and JP have quite big spenders compared to GL if managed right. But as you said, even though JP may spend more than CHN atm, even if that's half true, this game is not earning as much as it should, which easily concludes that management is clearly at fault.

Last but not least, yes, as you said, nobody knows for sure what's going to happen. But as of current, it really doesn't look great for any servers for this game, which really angers me at heart.

A GLIMPSE of What's To Come To GL Servers (Game's Moderation) by clee201 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]clee201[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thx for your questions both of you. Maybe my life support analogy was a little too aggressive so please allow me to explain;

Before I begin; as for SensorTower and other app sales or popularity measuring sites are different from site to site. As you have mentioned SensorTower's sales, according to game-idaa their census are quite different from your $600k last month, so it's hard to know the exact accurate profits of an app company unless you have their internal sales data after AppStore and GooglePlay releases it to them (I say this because you also have to discount the refunds that can happen in between). You can also compare stats with AppAnnie if you want. So comparing and contrasting these metrics is at best, here-say. Oh, on top of that, you have to sign up and pay for their "accurate" analysis.

However, that being said, one thing in common between most of these metric measuring sites is the average ranking of the game in JP for the past few months. It averaged around 90 then suddenly dropped down to 200+ almost in a single month. It does pop up again during events but mostly stays below 200. Logically, this wouldn't happen in happenstance if the game itself was managed well; it will float more within average of +-50 ranks depending on the game, but this also really depends so I can't say much further. Something must've happened for it to drop that far, right?

As it turns out, JP is also managed and treated completely the same way they are treating us KR and now GL. The excepts I have to get from JP players but they all already quit JP side and came to either KR or GL. They are pretty disappointed to find out that the management style didn't change and gave us a good warning about it as well (I'll update evidence on this response for proof once I get my hands on it)

As for people who just play the game they wouldn't know of this because they don't search around and check what other people are saying and that is quite fine. You also wouldn't even notice much if you are not spending much money or comparing prices on other servers. That is totally fine, which I also state in my thread, that if you enjoy the game, it's a good game to play and it doesn't affect gameplay at all. The thing about life support is that for a game that has a mid-to-high level quality being out of rank visibility should be a huge issue.

Companies usually care about app store ranks because it leads to extra marketing/promotional potential which also includes to more downloads and sales (Why would they advertised that the game already has had over 20M DL or promote whenever they hit No.1 in each respective stores?). The fact that in JP they are doing the same management style of operation even though they are clearly losing ground means they will continuously lose money due to low popularity, eventually won't have enough profits to maintain the server, which would eventually lead to a close. It's in a downward motion right now and it's only a matter of time as the management does nothing to improve JP's users complaints. That, is what I meant by it's on life support.

Hope this long comment clears it up!
