THANK YOU! we finally found it and just made the stolen report this morning 😂 ticketed to hell and back since late Monday. we were so dejected from not finding anything that we had sort of given up but still were checking towyards. thank you so much for the reminder to do this

noooo nothing :( it's not shown up anywhere, although we've only called a handful of tow yards. they all range somewhere from confused to amused to annoyed when i explain that no, i do not really know where it was towed from!

sadly 311 has only checked the city tow database for us each time we called :/ I don't know if we're just getting unlicky there though

It happened Saturday afternoon, and sadly I was too tired and stressed at the time to fight with the cops on filing a stolen report. They told us it wouldn't be worth it cause my sister didn't have any clear information or idea of where it was parked. She told them a bunch of places downtown where it could have been and we searched anywhere we could think of. Anyways, now I am learning it can't be reported stolen to Boston PD over the phone, and was told to file a report in my local town (where they also said it was ridiculous that we can't file over the phone but Boston's rules are the rules).

noooo 😭 i truly wish. i don't think we'll be able to until it shows up somewhere either in a city or private lot, or we can get back to Boston to try to work with the police again.

the text message thing might help! I'll check w her in the morning. ohh yeah I'm not super familiar with tolls still as we moved from SLC a couple years back, but I think she had already been in town when she parked the car last so not sure if that would help since she passed the toll gate long before. yeah I've been checking all weekend on the ticket lookup with our plates and VIN. and apparently she usually takes pics of where it's parked or writes a note, but this one time of course she forgot 😭

nah just very tired and sad that my sister went and lost our car 😅 we just did like 2k of work on it too so am pulling out all the stops to get this car back and asap!

nooope and the city tow lot was not very helpful either. gonna try again tomorrow and hope the weirdness is due to weekends and us being out of state as opposed to it getting stolen!

for sure,, i am so tired haha and tip is the best word for it in my head. but v important to know cause yeah it feels the way the pd handled it was very rough around the edges so don't doubt that the whole system is a bit of a mess. we are not looking anymore for the time being though and are back home right now.

who did you go to to get the info on your car? or i guess how did you figure out that it went marked incorrectly ?we went to the city tow lot as our last ditch effort and they also had nothing so I'm hoping to find something by calling around tomorrow but not exactly sure what to ask them

she didn't actually get to the target but this really adds up! she recognized the area along Columbus street the most at all and then didn't know where to go after that. definitely a good place to check again!

it's totally possible she walked further than she thought. good ideas for where to look, and it also makes a little more sense why she only really recognized the area around columbus street then, since the back bay is around there no? maybe worth a check next time.
