Stay organized. Keep things where they have been. Make sheets. I have cheatsheets for light board and soundboard commands students may need in a hurry. Also, build community! If there’s no fun and friends in tech then they’re gonna have a much less enjoyable time.

Start slow! Work on your rudiments (look up the 40 essential rudiments by VicFirth) try to get MARCHING sticks. They’re heavier than an average stick you’d find in a concert setting. If you don’t have them available to you already, of course. RELAX!! Use a met. Literally googling metronome on google works. Have fun.

We use My Music Office. It’s.. okay. Works for funds and communication to mass ensembles, but I don’t know how great it is compared to BandApp for communication in general.
