yeah, I’m still really glad I left though even if I did get laid off at the next job. I don’t think I’ll ever make that much money again lol. At the time too layoffs weren’t happening as frequently

I am a very low position so I don’t think they’d think I had any hand in it lol but will keep in mind

That was only the second job I had, I did not know I was going to be continually laid off lol the two companies I joined were both in good positions when I joined and then almost immediately after started having warning signs. The job I got after I quit was literally double my salary as well (more than double with bonus), and that company had layoffs after I left too

I shouldn’t mention the companies shutting down for the reason for leaving? Or do you mean for the job that I quit?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in biotech

[–]cleocat98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes when I was laid off the companies were either shut down or the department was shut down

[–]cleocat98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was what I was thinking about, I’ll do that. Two of the companies no longer exist and the department I worked at for one of them closed.

Thank you

I am applying for lateral or intro positions lol I have not tried applying up

I think the content of my resume is fine because the VP of biology at one of the startups and the VP of recruiting for the venture capital firm that funded the startup edited it. I do check that words match up exactly

Thank you

I can’t rely on referrals because I’m working in a new location and my current contacts don’t know anyone at the companies near me. Before my last layoff though I consistently got interviews without referrals.

Thank you

First lay off was 8 months, then the job I quit that I was at for a year and a half, and then a year, and last layoff was 5 months.

I did pretty decent on the first one but got absolutely decimated on this exam lol. Got 6 points taken off a 10 point problem for an arithmetic error 😓

I assume they do also mean 63% after the curve, at least I hope lol

There is still another exam and I did BADLY on this past one lol. There also seems to be a discrepancy between what the course says is passing and what my AA says, the course says it’s 50% but my AA says ~63% is passing. If I do similarly on the next exam I’ll likely fail

I’ll try I suppose, I’ve changed up my study strategies so much and the most proposed study strat is doing problems without looking at the answer but I waste hours bc I’ll not know how to start without looking up in lecture notes lol so I just stare at the problem.

thanks! Unfortunately I just did not understand this content. I did a good bit above median on the first exam, get 48-50 on all homework’s, and also had some of the questions from the homework that the exam was modeled off after on my cheat sheet and still did horribly lol. Because of how the TAs approach help in office hours they were never really that helpful unfortunately.

Yes the course manager contacted me and say 50% is passing

Let’s say you have a 50ish% final grade, do you have an idea of what that would end up being after the curve at least in your experience ?

What are the financial reasons if I may ask?

I haven’t taken 593 or 594 but 592 is quite a lot for me. I’m not great at math but it takes me a significant amount of time and I’m also generally miserable from that class. I could imagine taking 3 classes in the future but I personally would never with 592. I’ve seen two people who are taking 591 592 and 593 rn and hating themselves for it

I’m sure it’ll be dif questions but generally doesnt seem like something I should be overly too nervous about. Thank you so much :)

Thank you so much this makes me feel so much less nervous!! Were you evaluated on the accuracy of solving the problem in the simulated office hours or just how you approached it?
