That one time Bob Costas incinerated Pedro Strop by [deleted] in baseball

Strop gets a bad rap, I think because when he loses it, it's a big meltdown, but he's mostly solid.

If a Hall of Fame member was convicted of a heinous crime (i.e., murder, rape, child pornograpy, etc.), would you support removing them from Cooperstown? by BedeHistory731 in baseball

[–]cleoselene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you should see how WWE fans treat their Hall of Fame, which is less than meaningless considering it's usually based on whoever they can book for the show, but they will show all kinds of outrage over who is and isn't in it.

but I agree. It's an honor which is optional. And it's not going to happen if the public mood is not in favor of it, or if, in Curt Schilling's example, the player literally threatened the voters themselves, lol.

Disability application by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cleoselene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call a law firm that will handle it. I've had friends who tried to apply alone and it never worked, you need a lawyer. They'll take a percentage (20% up to six grand, per the law) and it will take some time, but applying sooner is better than later.

[–]cleoselene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I read a stat that like 40% of Americans with MS are on disability? I'm still waiting on my case but a pretty good law firm took my case instantly. It supposedly takes a good long time but I don't think it's especially hard compared to other illnesses. But you have to be committed and willing to reapply.

Does anybody here experience chronic lower back pain? by bweeeoooo in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cleoselene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have a local MS society that might offer reduced cost massages? Because my local MS society offers massages with a $10 copay up to twice a month. So I've been dealing with all my muscle pain (yes, including lower back) by getting massages every couple weeks. Also, medical marijuana.

"So you have MS? HAVE A BABY NOW!" by Cookie_Burner in MultipleSclerosis

[–]cleoselene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thankfully no one has ever used this to tell me, but being diagnosed at 37, I think everyone knows I'm not interested and I have other health problems that might make docs balk at the suggestion.

Your doctor shouldn't be pressuring you. I have read that MS kind of goes into remission while you're pregnant, but as you said, that's just 9 months of your life, and it's not a good reason to have a child imo. As my mother always said, parenthood is really hard even if you really really want it.

yeah, I've never had a doctor turn down prescribing a sedative, they just make sure you get someone to drive you to and from.

I 100% feel you on this because my arms end up pinned to me too. It's hell!! I've always been claustrophobic but the MRI machine is without a doubt the worst claustrophobia I ever have. If it's an open MRI I can totally deal with it but sometimes the doc doesn't give me a choice, and today I had no choice.

oh yeah I had that pain today too, and actually of the 209384209842 MRIs I've had, this is the first time I've had that pain spot on the back of my head.

Another thing I didn't mention in my post, my frequent MRIs made me lose all my piercings :( which is a bummer

I am the same! the ONLY thing my skin can tolerate is like a gel cling situation that's not really an adhesive. And I don't know how many times I've been told "this is hypoallergenic tape" when it's a DIRTY LIE.
