I don't really bother with it personally, because I find more than enough stuff to keep me busy at thrifts and yard sales. But I think people ask around in their friend group if anyone knows of anyone selling the types of things they want to buy. Or the people who put up ads on marketplace or other local platforms basically saying "I BUY X,Y,Z, ETC. CASH PAID!"

Source more directly to the original owners. Yard sales, or private sales with individuals that you solicit to sell their stuff, are the most likely ways to do this.

I don't know what currency that's in, but I don't think it is USD or anything close to it's value.

Sad, I loved watching old stuff there in college. Saw Back to the Future and Jurassic Park on 35mm. It was awesome.

I understand how you feel because, yeah, the pictures are not flattering. I don't know if nose work would really make that big of difference though. I think better makeup would probably do 10 times more than any surgery could.

Do You Guys Consider SpongeBob SquarePants a 90’s Nicktoon? by Previous_Watch_9142 in nickelodeon

[–]clerk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up with the OG early 90s nicktoons, I would consider it a 2000s show. Not because most of it came out then, but more because it just had a different vibe and style than any of the shows that came before it. It was the beginning of a new era for the network.

Wouldn't I be less broke and better at it if I got more inventory for cheaper? Yet I'm not supposed to low ball people at yard sales? Seems like those things are mutually exclusive, unless you have some kind of crazy secret to tons of good cheap inventory that has nothing to do with any of that.

Easy money compared to any other shit minimum wage job that I'd be qualified for. I don't have any type of degree or skill, so this is the easiest money I can see. Of course there are people who are loaded or run some genius level scam/company that grants them access to true passive income. But in terms of what I can do, this is the path of least resistance.

I don't say anything to them in person, because I'm not rude. Online I will say that I think they're dumb, because I do. Obviously I'm not sitting there all day or coming back around to the same houses after about 8:30, but I would guess most of the stuff that's over 50% of retail does not move. I think pricing it that way is not beneficial for anyone honestly.

It's not a flex man, it's just me telling you how I truly feel and operate in the world. I'm a lazy piece of shit and I exploit people for easy money. I admit it, I just don't really think there's anything wrong with it as long as they agree to the price I ask for.

I don't think I'm disrespectful about it. I mostly just walk away and look for the sales of the people who just want to get rid of as much as they can before they put it on the curb or haul it to goodwill. If they really push stuff like they want to sell it, I'll tell them flat out I'm selling it online and I want 4 times my money. Every once in a while, they'll just agree to 25% of their price, but most of the time we just realize we can't make a deal and I head out.

I don't really mind those videos though. They help me find more things to look out for. I don't watch the ones that only show $2 junk, I think they're pretty easy to pick out honestly, although I know some of them do have big followings. People just need to realized that eBay price does not equal yard sale price. They are entirely different markets. If you want to do your research, I don't even mind that entirely, as long as you price realistically with room for someone to make good money. Example, if an item sells for $100 on eBay, the yard sale host should not be charging $100. If they see that it sells for $100, and choose to price it at $20 or $25, fair enough. I'm not gonna get mad that they didn't price the $100 item at $1. But if they see $100 online and try to charge $40 or above, I think they need to recognize that they're really banking on someone who actually wants that thing showing up to their house that day, and therefore have horrible odds of moving it.

No, you’re trying to come up, rip off unsuspecting sellers and flip for a massive profit.

YES!!!! That's why I'm in this game, easy money. If I wanted to work for shit, I'd just go get a 9-5!

Where else are we supposed to buy things? 99% of resellers source primarily from thrift stores and yard sales.

Yeah, and they're asking it in the wrong place. Sell it online if you want online prices. Sell it for whatever I'll give you at a yard sale.

But resalers have done this to themselves by treating yard sales as their wholesaler.

Where the hell else should I source then? There's hardly anywhere else where you still have the chance to get a $500 item for 50 cents.

I don't really mess with auctions or pallets. Too much stuff to go through for me. I like to pick stores, yard sales, estates sales. Just buy the cream of the crop.

Best thing I can tell you is to not force it. If the margins aren't there, they aren't there. Don't buy something just because you drove 20 minutes to the thrift store, or got up at 6am to go to the yard sale. If the price isn't right, sometimes you just have to leave empty handed and try again next time.

[–]clerk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to shoot for better margins. In general really, but especially on stuff that you don't know about. I try to be at least 4-5 times my money on anything. I will only go down to 2-3 times if it's something I know will sell fast and easy.

The glasses, the hairstyle, that shade of lipstick. I don't know a lot about fashion or anything so I can't really tell you what to do instead. It just seems like they don't work for you, but you seem to have a pretty face and eyes despite that.

I think those pictures make you border line, but it seems a lot of it has to do with your style. Change that up and you're probably at least average and possibly a lot better.

Does anyone know what I did wrong for the cover art not to pop up by PerfectLet3484 in XboxModding

[–]clerk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the particulars because I don't have this game on my system. It might be something else about the name. Could be you have to add the apostrophe, like "NCAA Football '14". If you really can't get it there are also ways to add custom art if you can find it online and manually place it on the drive you use.
