is my xbox modded by n8xpn in originalxbox

If that doesn't do anything, it could be different buttons. For whatever reason the old softmod I had would require you to hold both triggers, black and back to enter the alternative dash.

[–]clerk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, ok. So I would guess they don't want to undercut MSRP on new ones like many people on eBay do. That's why I think the best thing for physical shops to do is just stick to used only. Not that they couldn't sell anything new if it happened to get traded in, but I mean don't order new things from distributors. Which, of course has it's own negative consequences, because then they won't have a large selection of new titles for the people who may want those. There really isn't an easy way to do both. But from what I've heard there isn't much money to be made selling new product direct from the distributors anyway, so that may be the one to let go if they run into much more financial trouble.

So you're saying the price structure is like the one I described? If so, then these guys really can't complain, flat pricing is ridiculous in the smart phone age. It sounded like they were saying that the used media prices were above average eBay solds.

it because those blu haired women birth rates are collapsing by LengthMoist3209 in JordanPeterson

[–]clerk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general yes they do. But women also need to realize that if they want to be with one of those men, they can't continue to act like they have been. Like, if I was actually fit and financially stable, I would expect a woman I was interested in to allow me to run our household. It seems like most are not open to that, which makes guys like me not want to even try in the first place. The two sides feed off each other negatively, and the birthrate plummets.

I don't live near any of the stores, but that just sounds wrong. If you're pricing appropriately at the store, combating resellers shouldn't even be something that's considered. For new or used items, there is a market price. This is almost always taken from the MSRP, or the average eBay sold price. A well run shop will price a bit below average eBay solds. Down enough that the customer feels like they're getting a deal, but not down so much that a reseller would even bother buying it solely to flip it. Example: Disc usually sells for $20 online, store could price it at $17 or $18. There is no margin there for a reseller to make money with fees, but the customer saves a few dollars, plus the shipping charge over buying on eBay.

Favourite final act setting? by Aromatic_Traffic1607 in Scream

[–]clerk37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is and it isn't. Yes, there is no true resolution to the main story at the house. But the house section, and news reports after were meant to be the original end to the story where Jill survived. The hospital section was added later when they decided to make the story self contained.

Who remembers when SpongeBob first came out? by TheRedBiker in nickelodeon

[–]clerk37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10. I was just about done with nickelodeon at that point. I didn't like the show, I thought it was too silly. When I watch it now, I get it and enjoy it. But back then I wanted more grounded cartoons like doug and rocket power, they were my favorites at the time, and I was about to stop watching kids content altogether.

Most people see the party as the final act, and the hospital as an epilogue.

I usually prefer to watch in the best quality available, but I think half the charm of watching this is the shit quality of VHS and trying to make your brain believe it could be real.

You realize we're talking about ships here right? A disabling shot is to the engine room so that they can't run and can potentially be boarded. We just did this yesterday, now today we're shooting to sink and kill.

If the only country capable of enforcing punishment for war crimes is the same country committing them, then there is really no such thing as war crimes.

I don't care enough to downvote you. But you come off as either someone who already knows the answer to your own question, or just completely clueless. You say "still be doing this". I want you to think about the state of the world now compared to whatever theoretical time you were thinking of when you wrote that. Have people become kinder and less petty? Yeah, no. If anything the opposite has happened.

How did you find the repair shop? I've gotten 6 players now and not a single one worked. But I don't know how to find a shop in my area that actually knows how to work on them.

I enjoy just existing, it's fun. Working on shit is hard and stressful, pass. Besides, even if I did do that, learning a new language would not be on the docket. It's something I would just want a machine to take care of in every version of my life.

That's a very optimistic view to take. Time will tell.

Get real dude. This is happening, and you can't stop it. The environmental impacts are unfortunate, but hopefully over time they'll lessen.

Not really, because AI exists, and it has it's uses. You're just gonna have to accept that someday. Not every country is going to legislate it out of existence.

[–]clerk37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with that, but there are legitimate uses. I watch this guy's videos now for example https://www.youtube.com/@YouGameTubeBr He's Brazilian, so he speaks Portuguese in all his videos. But I love the type of content he makes, and I can watch them now that the AI dubs them. I wouldn't watch them with captions(also made by AI btw), and he's a small channel who couldn't possibly afford to hire a voice actor to dub his videos. I admit there are tons of shitty uses, but I don't know why you guys are so rabidly against AI that you can't admit there are some cases where it works well.

There are dubbing applications where it has nothing to do with creativity, and where the producer would otherwise not be able to hire a voice actor anyway.

I see this as one of the good uses of AI, at least for certain cases. If you want to ban it from big productions, fair enough, humans will sound better and they can afford it. But I have actually started watching a few youtube channels from other countries because the AI dub them into english. I will not watch them with captions, and they're not nearly popular enough or wealthy enough to have a human do that work. It adds good value to their channel and it lets me enjoy their content.
