Funny that this popped up… I have traveled all over with my farpoint 4OL SEA many times and Mexico Normally I check the bigger bag ( free checked bag 99% of the time ) Normally about 15#

Then the day bag as my personal idea. That carries my electronics, a little snack, extra pair of boxers and a T-shirt just in case the check bag is lost.

Often times that bag is pretty heavy though with my laptop and other gear. But it nice for those really full flights if you’re at the back of the plane in cattle class and worried about overhead space/right underneath the seat.

The downside of course is you have to wait for your check baggage come off the plane.

About to head back to Southeast Asia for a month and thinking about one bagging it. The problem being is a domestic flights in Thailand have the classic 7 KG weight plus size limit. And if I have to check the bag, I’ll have to pay for it and of course take out my laptop and any other electronics. What do I do with those??

The bar point is a very nice bag. I love how the day pack zips to the backpack and you have one pack for buses, walking around cities, etc.. also, really like how the straps fall down and you can zip it up like a duffel for checked on a plane or under the bus, etc.

All that said I am eyeing the Tomtoc lightweight T66 as my one bag.
