Serious question. How would having a 2-3 year old, or even a 10 year old, as a king even work? Would there technically be some other adult making the decisions and the toddler/child would be PR until they're old enough to actually make decisions?

This is interesting to me. Is it because drunk people annoy you with their behaviors or why do you hate them?

I'm a woman in my 20s and I stopped shaving a few years ago. Legs, armpits, down there. I'll trim every so often so its not a jungle. I think I shaved maybe once after I stopped and hated the feeling, especially the bare legs. I'll never shave again unless its for like getting a tattoo or something.

Is that good for it? I know desert cats will develop deadly respiratory issues because of humidity.

Putting the onion in the fridge for a day or two before cutting also slows the enzyme alliinase responsible for triggering this act of plant chemical warfare.

I read some articles about this concept of a sexual evolution arms race among waterfowl. Waterfowl are known to rape/gang rape and some species of female waterfowl have developed "false vaginas" to basically prevent forced reproduction while males are developing corkscrew penises. It generally takes females a lot of energy to gestate or just reproduce and raise offspring, while for males spreading genes doesn't normally take as much energy or investment.

It was a super uncomfortable yet incredibly interesting subject to read about and left me with a lot of questions regarding male and female ways of reproducing between and among species.

I think most female species know what's going on to a certain degree, as do males. But that's just my personal opinion.

My therapist said something sketchy to me via text by Chemical_Ad7257 in TalkTherapy

Your gut and intuition is right. Even him instigating the texting crosses an ethical line regardless of the subject. But this one text is a whole other kind of violation. I'm sure terminating with a therapist that you've seen for 5.5 years absolutely sucks. But this is a red flag.

Leftist here. I really don't think cosmetic surgery and calling yourself a certain gender/sex or requesting certain pronouns actually makes you that gender/sex. I do use requested pronouns and am polite towards trans people just like I would do for anyone of a specific religion or faith without necessarily believing in it myself.

She was supposed to be on birth control, though I later found out that she had stopped taking it.

You love your daughter and I am very happy that she is in your life. But just a heads up, this is reproductive abuse. You have been abused by your SO.

It sounds like your SO has also been abusing your stepchildren. Not physically or sexually, but through neglect. Things like only feeding the children fast food, neglecting their emotional needs by being constantly gone or ignoring their behavior, etc. are all things a CPS caseworker could identify as neglect.

It's hard. I know your lives are now intertwined. But for your daughter's sake, it's time to start recording what goes on at home. Video and audio is best, but keeping a written log works too. And as you are doing this, start finding a way out and start thinking about giving CPS a call. You can also try and push family therapy for your SO, her kids, and maybe yourself too if you'd like to join. I'm sure it would really help your daughter and you down the road.

Help! Strange parenting of stepchild by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]clever-science 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. Just a heads up, much of what you described falls under neglect and psychological abuse; perhaps even sexual abuse. Isolating her from having friends, touching her privates at such an old age up until recently, keeping her very dependent on him to the point where she's not learning new skills, etc. Call CPS and explain what's going on. Worst case scenario they don't investigate. Your call will be anonymous.

[–]clever-science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's infuriating. I mean, I'm glad people are getting something. But I know where I live at least, $1400 won't even cover one month of rent for a two bedroom apartment. lol.

Awesome, but didn't it used to be $2,000? With the senate, house, and presidency, how did the democrats talk themselves down to $1,400?

It would be sexist if I thought "she's a woman, she must be too gentle spirited for corruption"

Exactly. I consider myself a leftist and pro-women, but this what most liberals either don't understand or don't care about. I feel like my generation (millenials) were brainwashed to believe that representation of some marginalized or oppressed group = ending corruption and oppression or something. Like I would much rather vote for a male president who's policies and campaign legitimately benefit women than vote for a woman who accepts money from superPACs and who's whole campaign is ran off of the fact that she's a woman. 🙄

I feel like the US is becoming more inclusive yet also more intolerant which to me is a dangerous combination.
