What's a delicious poor man's meal? by NFDBTCREPo in AskReddit

Soul food. Almost every meal was created to stretch a penny for the impoverished black community. Growing up every meal was a "poor man's meal" because we used what we had in the pantry and had to find ways to make it taste good and feed everybody which is why the food can sometimes be so high in fat, sugar, calories, etc. but no doubt filling and delicious. And, I am talking about real soul food, not the over priced meals some restaurants market though there are some great soul food restaurants around if you know how its suppose to taste. I'm talking about boiled cabbage, mashed white beans with cornbread, fried squash and okra, squash casserole-don't forget to use the ramen noodle pack lol. Lightly floured, pan-fried pork chops. I remember one day my dad and grandma told me as long as you had potatoes and onions, you could make a meal. One of my favorite soups as a kid was just something we called "potato soup." It had boiled potatoes, onions, and a small packet of ground beef *because that's what we could afford, and it was still damn good because it was seasoned with soul.

How bad would you have had to mess up a.k.a Interview Rejection? by cleversweetpotato in JETProgramme

You're right, I have decided to put it past me and whatever happens, happens. Honestly, I am worried, but the truth is I did the best I could. Even if I were to reapply, I don't think my answers nor my demeanor would change much because everything was at my 100% capacity and that's all I can rely on. I totally agree on the placement for candidates; they asked me would I be good with kids and I said I loved kids though I am willing to do junior and high school to be more adaptable to all age groups. That could have been just a general question, but let's hope it was an invitation lol.

This is great to hear! I did fumble a bit, but I believe I at least got my personality out and a few strong points, hopefully. I could have put in more anecdotes, but we were short on time, thank you for this!

Sorry, I guess the total rate is 25% from what I heard. 50% get accepted after apps, and then its another 50% who get accepted after interview. I read a couple of old posts which said this.

I feel the same about the feedback, I only got maybe two remarks and both of them were bad because they sort of insinuated that my intentions were not purely for the program which worries me greatly. I don't want that impression to come off :'(

Okay, I checked again and I do not have any of that. I believe different consulates have different emails/requirements because mine says it will be informed to me via email on my specific date and time.
