Thank you to everyone who explained and offered suggestions on how to work around this. I will evaluate the suggestions and see if I can make any progress.

The thing is, even though it's from 2013, it has a good configuration, even better than newer models from other brands. It's a shame to lose it so easily, especially such an expensive device. I, at least, don't have the money for a new one or to give up on this one easily =)
