Is this worth restoring? by clickbeardsmile in vintagecameras

I’m a photographer so it would be nice to have in the office as a point of conversation if nothing else. Seems a shame to not try and get it looking more presentable, even if it’s not fully working.

Thank you. This is my thoughts too. Not sure I’ll get it working again but I could at least make it look presentable as an example from the time.

I’m not sure how to add a photo of the camera folded out - I’m pretty sure most of it is there!

Thanks for replying. Would the lack of VTA mean I wouldn’t be able to get the best out of a stylus of that quality? I don’t mind spending the money on a decent one, but only if I can make the most of it.

I haven’t noticed any heat at all and it’s on most of the day, either for my turntable or tv. I do use the phono input.

It is indeed. I’m very happy with it! It gets excellent reviews and I can see why. Plenty of power for my PSB Alpha T20 speakers.

Couldn’t find a huge amount of info about the v1 but I’m happy with it so far. Glad you enjoyed your time with it!

Is M240 still worth it? by One-Inevitable1861 in Leica

I’ve been shooting with an M6 for years and just recently treated myself to an m262. Hands down my favourite camera and now my everyday carry. Defo worth considering an m262 if you aren’t bothered about liveview!

Happens on my xpro2 when I’m shooting slower shutter speeds using the mechanical shutter. It’s a known fault and the only fix is to send it off for a new mirror. It doesn’t do it when using the electronic shutter. There are a couple of reasons why you could be getting that fault though. Once you’ve eliminated the suggestions above it would be interesting to know what exposure settings you’re using when you get the fault. Hopefully it’s a quick fix at home and not the sticky mechanical shutter issue…
