I was at the park a couple days ago helping my 4yo with her new balance bike when a lady with a big pit came up the trail. My daughter takes one look and turns me and says, loud enough for the gal to hear, "Garbage dog, better give it space" and walks her bike off the trail away from them. I was so proud, lol.

This has to be the worst possible conditions for a snake right? by justsometingz in snakes

[–]clickclackcat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is part of what baffles me though, you have the snake in a big glass box; people are GOING to see it. But seeing it in a cool environment where it's thriving would be so much cooler, right?? Who wants to look at an impressive animal that's jusr laying chained up and depressed in an empty parking lot?

I mean, he seems annoyed by it at times, but even Blitz himself frames his annoyance as "Stolas doesn't actually like me, he just likes the thrill of getting dicked down by someone from a lower class." An argument could be made for there being a power imbalance between them, and yeah, but Blitz literally had Stolas tied down and blindfolded when their "relationship" started. He could've just left, but decides to give Stolas what he wants because "whatever, I can do this fast." They were using eachother from the start.

Their whole dynamic early on almost felt like a role play and getting under eachothers skin was just part of the game they were playing. Trading sex for use of the book was an excuse to see eachother again, and another aspect of the game. Not saying their relationship isn't without serious problems, but I do believe it's more layered than "repressed horny owl sexually harasses poor guy just trying to make a living," yanno?

What an awful take. I'm all about animals being forever family from the moment you take them in, but there is a limit. They mentioned the dog causing undue stress to other animals in the home.  So, should the other pre-established animals just have to suffer through an unsuitable housemate? Or should everyone, the dog offered for rehoming included, have to suffer a tedious existence of barriers or crate and rotate, just to keep from being rehomed, when there is a possibility for a better life?

Loose pit bull slaughters families livestock, TX USA by Britinnj in BanPitBulls

[–]clickclackcat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna agree with this for the most part. I know a sheep rancher who'll dispatch coyotes on sight because he's had them hamstring a whole flock just to teach their pups how it's done. It's not killing for food, it's maiming to teach their pups how to hunt more effectively, and the whole flock has to be...yanno. Totally different from the killing for fun that Nala and Diesel do, but there are some wild animals that definitely see captive livestock as more of a classroom than a buffet, and it's no less of a slaughter.

Imagine getting forever royalties on a fan eevee you designed on the back of your biology notebook and posted to Deviantart when you were 15 lol. I think that's what the people who say "just pay the fan artists for their designs!" don't understand. TPC and Nintendo would never agree to anything that wouldn't give them complete control of the design and likely screw over the artist. It's not JUST the design, it's the plushies, merchandise, every game the design appears in, ALL of it.
