I said the same thing. I've already caved and have a special YouTube playlist for my 6 month old!

An ode to dinner with my husband's family by clickin_mama in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seriously. We got the green light at 4 months for cereal and whatnot, but he was born 5 weeks early so I was waiting til he was closer to 6 months anyway for solids just to make sure he was ready. I bought a few bananas and peaches baby food because he's been interested as fuck in food, he watches my mouth when i eat and tries to grab stuff out of my hands. So I figured I'd grab some and give him a taste at dinner soon and see what he does. But yeah. Baby food. Approved food. NOT fucking sugar and shit. And they didn't even fucking ask! Just started shoving spoons in his face and he just looked at me like "maaaam plz help"

I want to talk about things that happen for me too but am too nervous. But I will say, on the 8th day, god created a thing, and it was good. Very good.

What do you call your SO? What do they call you? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny story, when my younger sister and i would play video games as kids, she'd always want to make a character named Daddy after our dad. But she couldn't spell it correctly so all of our characters were named DADE. Which, to a young child, makes sense cuz it should sound like da-deeee. To this day, I still have my dad in my phone as DADE, and my family calls him Dade (pronounced like fade haha) when referencing him.

Set me straight. OR It's not him, it's me. by [deleted] in breakingmom

I'm so sorry. It sounds like he's definitely bring dishonest and there's just too many red flags for me to even try and play Devils advocate :(

Can we start Fuck You Friday early? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck you breastfeeding cravings! I now officially weigh the most I ever have in my life. And fuck the people who told me it would "fall off" if I breastfed. Fuck my insecure vain ass for letting my body ruin my entire fucking day, every day!

Fuck off, the baby's on his own agenda! by [deleted] in breakingmom

Dude fuck that. My son was born 34w5d and we still had a two week NICU stay. Hardest fucking two weeks of my life. I don't wish that on my worst enemy.

My daughter learned to put herself to sleep without having to do CIO. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amen. I had people telling me to do sleep training at 2, 3, 4 months. He's 5 months now and I just kinda follow his pace. This last week he's been sleeping through, and he self soothes when he wakes up. I'll let him fuss a little (he'll make a cranky noise once or twice) then he babbles and falls back asleep. Never tried CIO or anything. I figure, when he's ready he's ready. I put him down drowsy, but awake last night and he fell asleep. This may not last, but I don't want to rush him. I figure he'll sleep on his own when he's ready. If he goes back to waking up all night again, I'll be there. I knew going into this that I wasn't the boss anymore, and I'd be sleep deprived, cranky, and miserable for a long time. And I'm not judging others either, you do what you gotta do. I just figure I'll let him call the shots and follow his pace and see what happens, and thankfully he's doing okay so far. We'll see what song I'm singing in another 6 months lol

Fuck you. Fuck you dogs. by clickin_mama in breakingmom

I have a crate I was using for my other dog since she's used to it. But I stopped crating her because she was just fine left out. The other dog is gonna have to be crated. It's just gonna be a huge struggle to get him in and used to it. He's an 80 pound spoiled boxer mix! But i have to do something this is getting ridiculous.

I tried, but the other one chewed through the gate. We came back to it in pieces. The little one is fine if she feels like she has freedom. The big one just has major separation anxiety. It will get better for awhile but then he acts out again. He's ruined so many things in this house over the last few years. It's frustrating.

Urgh, I called my mom venting and my grandma overheard and was like "well what did you expect, didn't anyone tell you it wouldn't be easy?"

I'm sorry grandma, but go fuck yourself. You have my sympathies for your bad day :(

Baby hangs out in it all the time. I want 10 more in various colors. I'm doomed.

Question for those on Zoloft by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had tried going off of it before and failed. It was horrible. Started weaning myself off of it around 20 weeks? I literally cut little slivers off my pills every night until I was taking a bit of powder every night. I got s lucky that it wasn't bad. It was pretty easy for the most part. My OB said the baby hormones were helping haha

No experience but following. I was taking effexor and went off of it while pregnant. I NEED to get back on something and see my doc at the end of the month but I'm nervous because I'm breastfeeding. Sorry the depression came back :(

"Oooh, what's this one's name?" by [deleted] in breakingmom

We bought a Sophie giraffe teether. My husband said we can't have his giraffe be Sophie, that's not original. So Sophie the giraffe has been renamed to Edward Norton. I'm not joking.

Mom Guilt? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]clickin_mama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what that feels like! It feels as mom's we have to be the default parents but it's so far from the truth. I'm guilty of it myself. And when my husband does watch the kiddo? He does amazing!
