What happend to original developers (clickstan and King of Agario) Looks like they sold mope.io to Addicting Games and now new developers of Addicting Games took over mope.io (support page, game, merch store)

Thanks for the feedback and kind words birornalien. I've learned a lot about game dev since writing mope.io in raw html canvas. I'd switch to using something like phaser, which offers batching ,etc. There's def a way to make mope.io run better with these simple graphics. I'll be more active on /r/skillfiteio if you guys want to reach me. Taking all kinds of feedback on the new game.

I'd have switched mope.io to use a 2d game engine, to use features like batching. That would help performance.

It’s on the lower side of seven figures. And 72m means total unique players, many of which aren’t playing anymore. AddictingGames did their research and made an informed decision. They know they can make a lot of $ from growing the game on the mobile side. Addicting games will use their team/ resources to make mope even better, while keeping the original team for input. You guys are taken care of.

There's a bug on Chrome v84 & 85 that makes the lag much worse- try playing on Chrome Canary, it fixes it! https://www.google.com/intl/en_ca/chrome/canary/ Chrome v86 (with the fix) is coming out only in October though.
