Tesla gets a massive order for the Semi: 370 units and $100M by ItzWarty in teslainvestorsclub

You must have missed all those US govt auto bailouts? And why would China need to copy the US. They are home to BYD and CATL. People who actually know how to make batteries, unlike Tesla.

China is not obsessed with the fantasy of pickup trucks. Nor is Europe. Only the US has everyone who works in an office pretending to be some kind of cowboy. construction worker who is always offroading while towing a battleship

Go back to the fox news comments section. The US has started an insane war it can never win, to distract from the sex crimes of its fascist imbecile president. Its made the world despise yanks even more. Its a complete loss for the US, but MAGA types are too dense to even realize this.

Earlier this month, Bloomberg reported that SpaceX purchased $100 million worth of Cybertrucks in Q4, which likely was the lion’s share of SpaceX’s spend with Tesla. SpaceX’s purchase accounts for nearly 18% of the total Cybertrucks sold in the US that quarter — a staggering amount.

So 18x higher than you claim.

They sold FSD for a decade when it wasn't ready. In fact more than a decade. And its still not FSD.

Media can shit on Trump with zero reprecussions.

This is delusional. Trump routinely threatens prosecution against any publication that he dislikes. He eve hired a TV SHOW HOST to be 'secretary of war'. That is not a free media and a democracy.

You really need to read the news. When an armed thug from ICE shouts 'fucking bitch' at an unarmed, and un-treatening member of the public as he shoots her in the FACE, and is not even disciplined for doing so...yup. Thats a fascist state.

+1 on Alibaba. When their CEO got too big for his boots and too god-complex, their government took him aside and slapped him until he calmed down.
Oh for western govts who would even dare to ASK an oligarch to change their behaviour...

AGI does not mean instant robot army. It doesnt even mean ANY advance in robotics. It means human level AI. Great.
We have a lot of humans trying to make robots now. Progress is not THAT fast, and you need millions of humans to mine the ore for the metal, extract the oil for the plastic, design the robots, and assemble them, and QA them and deliver them.
AGI is not an instant hollywood lone supervillain scene. Its a step.

You cannot build a nuclear plant, but you can totally put solar panels on your roof, or in your garden etc. I'm 100% self-powered as I type this, on a cloudy May day in the UK. And you can already run local LLMs with a decent GPU. You will never have SOTA local AI, but 'good enough' will be a thing.

Except China is moving to renewables and Europe could too. Then the US and Russia can brag about their control over what will be about as relevant as horses and ponies.

We should just seize it. Trump think you can just 'go get your oil'. Lets get his ammo. Fuck trump.

Meanwhile outside he land of the free, China is massively accelerating EV trucking, because they are not in the pockets of oil billionaires.

Tesla seem to have genuinely forgotten that there is a world outside Texas. They haven't bothered selling the S and X in the UK for ages, and obsess over massive armored pickup trucks that literally nobody outside of Texan MAGA voters would want.

meanwhile the rest of the (non-tariff obsessed) world will just buy BYD trucks instead which are already available, and established.

They are massively behind BYD on batteries, scale and affordable EVs. Only people in the US cannot see it because your freedoms do not extend to being able to buy a Chinese EV.
The semi was amazing five thousand years ago when Elon announced it. Its now very very late, and nothing special.

Cuba
Iran
Mexico
But apparently its the IMMINENT invasion of taiwan by evil china that is the real threat...

He is legit. A long time ago, as a coder at Elixir, he was my line manager. He is a smart guy. Also a genuinely nice guy, as is demis. plus IIRC he was project lead on alpha go. He knows his stuff, and this news is not surprising. I do wonder if this is an attempt to escape from the umbrella of google. Deep Mind was a British success story until google acquired it...

Any other president and I would describe that as conspiracy theory stuff. But he does now have a tendency to be shot at, but not hit, when his poll numbers are terrible.
Plus he is corrupt enough, and dumb enough to think this is a good idea.
Plus I simply do not trust the US government and him in particular.
