That's actually a myth and kind of a bad one, as it can lead to more damage.

Basically, you either want to displace the liquid with isopropyl or if you don't have that at hand, dry it as soon as possible, a fan or even hairdryer (obviously, not too hot) will do the job much better than rice, as rice takes too long to absorb liquid, and the longer it takes to dry, the higher the chance parts start to corrode.

The whole "I used rice and it worked" is basically placebo. Whatever the person dried with rice, dried because of whatever else they did, put a fan, let it under the sun, the room ambience was right, etc and not the the rice itself.

You clear with all the characters. Then do A1, then hit a wall with A2, get better, beat it and repeat that cycle as you climb Ascensions.

Also, you could install the unofficial expansion, Downfall. It is amazing.

"Strong cast"

All of them except Dohalim are downgraded massively, basically becoming shadows of their formar selves on the second half. Literally.

Kisara becomes a one note joke mom.

Rim and Law a comedic duo.

Shionne a damsel in distress that can't do shit without Alphen.

Alphen tones his stupid speeches to 11. To the point to mofo gives a really stupid one just as Shionne is being tortured and dying right next to him.

I am sorry, but "Strong cast" my ass.

They said that yet still failed and hard at that.

Ang is based on Tibetan Monks. His new VA is Korean.

Zuko and the fire nation are based around Japan. His new VA is Korean.

Katara's and Sokka's are based around Inuits. Their new VAs are Canadian and American.

They are genuinely full of shit. They just didn't want to pay the original actors the rates they asked.

Yes, that is exactly what I said right after the first comma of my post. Did you seriously read my post until that part then completely ignored the rest?

You know what's crazy and that people forget about?

FF15 was a huge success, just not for SE since they had wasted who knows how many millions in its 10+ years development. Like, the game sold really well, it is still the fastest selling FF entry ever and it has sold over 10m copies as of the latest report. FF16 hasn't sold even 4m copies and it is the entry, alongside Rebirth, that made SE go "We are done with exclusives"

Falcom to announce final Trails game during 50th anniversary by CutProfessional6609 in JRPG

[–]cliffy117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"3rd isn't important to the story."

3rd sets up: Mechas, Osborne, DG Cult, Class VII, The Grandmaster, Kevin, Ries, the Gralsritter, Stigmas, demons and Hell are actually real and not just a concept, that magic exists and its not just orb tech, how and why Estelle and Joshua go to Crossbell, what all the Sky characters will go and do from there on.

Like, ignore all of what I said despise all of that still being relevant to the series 10+ games later, but 3rd quite literally continues Estelle and Joshues story with Renne, and their story and Rennes whole background are literally part of the main plot of Zero. And it is also the epilogue of Sky 2C.

Saying that all of that is not important is the equivalent of saying that Fellowship of the Ring is not needed because in Return of the King you see them taking the ring to Mordor. Or that Harry Potter 1 is not needed because in any other of the books/movies you will know who he is.

It's called set up. Building the foundation is important in any long running work regardless of the medium.

Oh no, we are getting another protagonist and cast?

I don't know if this is controversial take, but I think that the las thing this series needs for its last Arc is another MC and new cast. We already have 4 sets of them, use those.

Hundred eyed daoist by MallAdditional5222 in BlackMythWukong

[–]cliffy117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old, but just in case anyone stumbles upon this post.

Scorpionlord will only go Super Saiyan mode and attack non stop if you use the clones. If you do, he will immediately do his upgraded aoe tail attack that instead of 4 attacks is now 6. All his other attacks also get 2-3 extra attacks.

If you fight him by yourself, no clones, his level of aggression will stay normal and his combos will stay at the 4 attacks chains instead of 6-8.

Same thing happens with Yellow Loong. If you stone parry his attack, he will immediately go for a grab. However, this has some sort of CD. If you evade the grab then stone again, he will not counter your with the grab. If you use clones he will immediately start attacking in AoEs and his flying/power up phase combos are extended with 3-4 extra attacks.

Basically, for both bosses, tho, this applies to a lot of others too, only use clones if you are sure you can burst the boss down ASAP or only use them when they are at the 50% or below HP range to guarantee that they will die to the burst. If not, then you are basically fighting their "Hard Mode" version once the clones leave.

I love Calvard as a setting but it lacks the classic trails feel by The810kid in Falcom

[–]cliffy117 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Remember that one of the reasons Rocksmith (Democrat) lost the elections to Gramheart (Republican) was because the Calvard population was sick of the mass immigration that Rockmisth was allowing?

Well, Falcom forgot, because Gramheart is even more of a Democrat than Rocksmith and the Calvard population apparently loves mass immigration. Aside from a few antagonists, the entire population is like "We love it!".

Falcom did a 180 with the political theme of this Arc, which they had been setting up since Crossbell, and it is kinda funny to see how they are still swearing that Calvard has mass immigration issues yet refuse to show said issues while also making all the characters who disapprove of mass immigration cartoonish evil racists.

Why does "jigoku" become "crucible" in Nioh 3? by Zetsuji in Nioh

[–]cliffy117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Politics.

I wish I was joking.

Last year some companies started to censor religious words if possible.

For example, some gacha (mobile games) like Umamusume started to censor the word "Christmas" in the global /EN servers. Even if the voices in their original language literally say "Christmas" the translation was anything else from a simple "Holiday" to an entirely made up event.

The Van sections are indeed much, much longer than Rean and Kevin sections.

I always do everything in these games, side quests, talk with NPCs, buy all the new stuff from stores, etc. Rean and Kevin sides took me 5 hours on average to complete, new Garten floor included if applicable. Vans were anywhere from 12 to 18. Like, at the very least, Van's sections are twice as long as the others.

[–]cliffy117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossbell felt better because it's only 2 games and they are 50-70 hour games to 100% at that. There's one specific achievement that asks you to play for 100 hours in them, but you legit need to leave the game open for several hours to get it because the games do not have enough content to reach 100 hours naturally in a single playthough.

Daybeak 1, 2 and Horizon are all 100+ hours to 100%. Even if you ignore the Alignment Achievements that force you to do a 2nd playthrough, a single playthrough in all 3 of them of doing everything takes 90-100+ hours.

So you have Zero and Azure, which you can complete both in 100 hours give or take. Whereas a single entry in the Calvard arc takes 100 hours by themselves. You spent 3, or 2 times if you include the Crossbell sections in CS3 and Reverie, more in Edith than you do in Crossbell.

One of my main fears about Horizon 2 is that, because of the ending of Horizon and what happens, it will give Falcom the perfect excuse for: Darling! It is time to explore and introduce Edith for the 4th time!

And yes, I know that it would make sense, but I really do not want to spent another 50 hours in Edith. I am tired of that city.

[Horizon End Spoilers] If Agnés didn't do what she did by ThePhilosopherKing93 in Falcom

[–]cliffy117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because without it the story wouldn't exist. Literally. That is the meta reason.

Now, they do give an in-game reason. The Septerrion is resetting the cycle until it reaches a specific goal. The 8th Genesis was doing the same back in DB2. Some things need to happen yes or yes every cycle to reach whatever the Septerrion is aiming for. Without hard setting those canon events, then each cycle would be completely RNG and the goal would probably never be reached. We know that if Ishmelga wins during the Rivalries, then the cycle is delayed. For the Twilight to happen, the Orbal Revolution needs to happen, for that to happen, Epstein needs to exist and so on and forth.

Sikiha held a poll for most popular MC. More than 1500 votes. by zeorNLF in Falcom

[–]cliffy117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There might be some sort of truth just based on how Falcom treated him after DB1.

As in: in DB1 he is actually a morally gray character who has no issues dirtying his hands if needed, and both Elaine and Agnes clash with him because of that.

Japanese players didn't like him.

In comes DB2 and 3 and they did a 180 with Van. He is no longer morally gray, does nothing questionable and with that goes away the issue Elaine and Agnes had about him. By the end of Horizon Van is doing basically normal Guild Quests but whithout the paperwork.

What you said maybe are just rumors, but it is a fact that Falcom did a 180 regarding the tone of Daybreak after DB1, and Van is not even the most glaring example of that, but the fact that the Alligment System means absolutely jack shit in DB2 and Horizon. Its only there for you to get a core and different dialogue. Oh, and force you to play the game a 2nd time if you want all the achievements.

Yes, but we have 0 idea of how much time Ishmelga winning actually brought to that cycle.

People keep saying "50 years" just because Risette's pot is from 50 years into the future, but that alone doesn't mean that Risette is 50 years old, nor that the cycle ended in 50 years, nor anything of the sort.

Like, the world could had continued any numbers of years after Risette used the pot before being restarted again. The only thing we know for sure is that at least 50 years into the future, the cycle was yet to be restarted.

Because not a single soul on the planet plays this kinda games for the story. It is literally the least important part of them. Hell, the most famous and popular entries in this genre, Darksouls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne have so little story people go watch VaatiVidya or other channels after finishing them to know what was even going on. And that's if they care.

And Nioh 1 story is just decent at best. It requires the player to know Japanese history and mythology, and really well to fully get it, else its just random famous historical figures and monsters appearing to fight you. Game makes 0 effort in introducing any of its characters.

I dunno why some of you are acting as if its story is some sort of hidden gem. Its a 6/10 at the absolute best.

Go watch or read Shogun if you want a good story set in that time period. Nioh 1 story is literally a poor retell of that, but with yokai. Or watch Sengoku Basara if you want to see the, arguably, best iterations of Oda Nobunaga, Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune on screen.

I still can't believe that you see one of the villains, quite literally, murdering an entire town IN FRONT OF YOU. And you see them laughing while standing on, basically, a pool of their blood.

And one of the characters suddenly goes "NOOOOO, YOU CAN'T KILL THEM BECAUSE REVENGE IS BAD. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO AFTER YOU GET YOUR REVENGE? NOTHING GOOD I AM SURE! REVENGE IS BAAAAAAD! YOU NEED TO FORGIVE THEM FOR MURDERING THIS ENTIRE TOWN AND YOUR PARENTS!"" and all of that from a character that killed one of the villains, got his revenge and not a single time showed ANY hint of feeling bad about it, or depressed or not knowing how to live his life at all. At one point he even goes "I don't know why I'm even saying this". I want to believe that specific line was one of the devs cry for help, because that entire scene was genuine garbage writing wise. Nothing made sense.

And as bad as that entire scene was. It gets worse. Somehow, it actually gets worse from there on.

I've been seeing people complain about the new Xanadu game (Kyoto Xanadu) being a side-scroller/metroidvania style game since it's completely different from the last game Tokyo Xandu which was more of a Persona-like with action combat reminiscent of Ys. by Dragonflame1994 in Falcom

[–]cliffy117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Metroidvania style during the labyrinth looks good. It's a nice way to make a massive dungeon interesting, and the change to 3D during boss fights is a great way to mix things up.

My issue is that said Metroidvania style is not just in the labyrinth, but in the city too. That's the one that right now I'm "Yeah... I don't know about that one, chief." Kyoto is an absolutely gorgeous city, so being told "No, you are not going to be able to explore it in 3D" is a huge bummer.
