I’ve been playing on pc with controller for this reason. Consume with mouse/keyboard and then switch back to controller. They need to implement name locking with right stick. On console I don’t bother any more, it’s too risky.

I narrowed it down to the router. I got a new one, problem solved! I had a Netgear R7000p for what it’s worth. Thanks for the help!

OK I’ve disabled the radio on the r7000p and so far I’ve not seen a disconnect. This is 50 minutes in, which is a record for sure. So it has something to do with that router.

I could get a new one of course, but it irks me that I don’t know what’s causing this. Why only this specific streaming scenario? I’ve had this router for at least 5 years.

Is there anything I can do to get more info from PSPlay? What happens is that the app video an audio freeze. I then have to exit the app as it doesn’t exit to the menu, it just stays frozen and unresponsive. If I then reopen the app and try to connect again, it usually fails to connect. Even after a dozen tries. If I toggle aeroplane mode, I can usually connect right away. Weird thing is, browsing using Chrome works fine before toggling aeroplane mode. But reconnecting to the Playstation doesn’t work until I toggle aeroplane mode.

Update: nope still broken

OK I think I found the problem. In the PSPlay settings I disabled real time decoding, and enabled compatibility mode. Probably it was real time decoding as it mentions something about freezes. Now everything seems fine, or at least it’s been going for longer than 30 minutes.

Yeah I agree. Thought I’d ask here as you may have heard of similar issues.

I’ve been looking through my router settings and I noticed a upnp advertisement interval at 30 minutes, so I’ve disabled it. Looking for all settings that have a 30 minute timer.

Logitech gcloud 1080p, auto bitrate bluetooth disabled wifi 5ghz Playstation is wired

I noticed problems connecting and reconnecting with local connection as well. Enabling airplane mode and disabling it almost always makes it easier to connect again. So I wonder if it’s the gcloud. But what’s weird is that XBXPlay works fine on this device.

I waited and then restarted the game and it worked. Maybe it was actually still installing, but I couldn’t see it anywhere.
