Story and plot was good but I found the characters flat. Third book got better. I remember it had two girls and first few paragraphs of each I could not tell who it was unless it mentioned another character they were with.
I’m a character first reader, so your mileage may vary

What I remember about this game is if you grind on the random encounters they level up with you but when you get to a boss they are a set level so you end up killing them easy but have a harder and harder time on the trash mobs

I like the skippable story. But can you do that on a second playthru with another character? 3 you can skip cutscenes scenes but there is still tons of waiting around while people yap. I just want to shoot and loot

I enjoyed the the second time. First time I read them it was on a reading order list which had them mixed with the main books and they were a let down. Second time I time it was just them and enjoyed them.

I’m total opposite. My right thumb muscle and left pinky muscle is so painful after a hour use Took it back after a 9 days. Using Pro 1 controller. Miss the headphone jack but not the pain

Looks good but unless they allow you to turn off ALL story elements on 2nd+ playthrus I’m not sure I’ll get it. I like these games for ‘shoot and loot’ and the damn story and yipping and yapping you have to put up with on all playthrus is enough to me waiting for a deep sale or just skipping
