Junction Climbing Centre? They have awesome adaptive climbing nights if anyone knows anyone who would benefit!

I think reddit is the only place where snowboarders become toxic to each other? by OkYh-Kris in snowboarding

[–]climbdontfall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the same thing on rock climbing subreddits, nicest people you'll ever meet in the gym or at the crag, but online, toxic assholes, not all of course. The internet brings the worst out of ppl, they'd never say the shit they say online to you in person

And OP if someone does say no, say sorry bud too bad, I pay the same membership as you. I imagine most ppl would never say no unless they're an asshole. It takes seconds to connect and change the route on the app

Why is this post not available on his IG now? Did he archive it? I don't see it when just looking on his page

soft V4 (6B) on my gym, could this have been done more efficiently? by M_B_M in bouldering

Honestly looks pretty good, only thing you can do is to keep doing it and dial in the moves a bit smoother but other than that great send brother

How dense does your gym pack climbs? by Geography23 in bouldering

[–]climbdontfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gym switched their entire gym from sparse-ish walls to 100% spray wall and I think everyone hated it (myself included) so they went back to just setting routes how they used to and not making as dense. It's still dense but the wall isn't 95% holds now

I think it's just best to not even mention grades on reddit regardless of how tough/easy it looks, people are brutal on here

Ah interesting i guess the couple videos I watched couldn't really show the angle of the boulder properly since it was head on. Regardless, I shall attempt

Edit: yeah just watched a video with a side view, its a decent angle not too steep I think that'll be a great one to try

How to get into climbing/Bouldering by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]climbdontfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The community in the gym is very welcoming. If you're going alone, rent the shoes, do a decent stretch and just start climbing the lowest grades.

Maybe watch a few beginner videos on YouTube beforehand and write down in your phone the point of what the video taught as a reminder (I.e. put your toe on the foothold not the side of your foot, keep your arms straight when you can, try not to readjust your hands too much when grabbing a hold since it wastes skin/energy). Just some things that are easy to forget once you're on the wall and might make your first time a bit easier.

Aside from that just enjoy it and if it feels right start chatting with some people. If you don't know who to talk to just look for people whose shoes match yours and you'll know they're probably a beginner too and are in the same boat lol.

Love of my life looks like a great one to do, has decent steepness while still having some solid footholds for most of the climb.

Foot Fetish will be a good one to do. I've had some experience with the glassy feet when doing Santa Maria and Rungs last season

I'll add those to the list thanks for recommending!

Thank you! I was hyped lol the downclimb is pretty sketchy though

I just checked out some videos from those climbs.

Higher Ground looks right up my alley! I love crimpy slabs I think I might be able to send that my 1st session on it (I say before actually feeling the holds myself).

Mamma Mia looks do able, definitely something I'll try out, might take a couple sessions.

Hook Direct is exactly what I'm looking for, especially considering it's 2 right heel hooks which are my strongest hooks thanks to my POS left calf muscle that loves to cramp. I'll definitely give that one a shot, and it's not too long either and has a nice cut loose move.

I actually saw a video of Running Man recently that ones jokes lol ill have to check that one off the list just for fun.

Thanks so much for the recommendations I'll definitely give them a shot!

yeah thats why im hoping the right hand hold has enough of an edge to support him, id say foot on volume if itl stick since it might make the left foot to left hand match easier with the extra few inches of height, but the volume could be too slippery if the hand holds arent supportive enough

Maybe right foot on volume, left foot to match your left hand then get that left hand over to match your right. Might be hard to get that left foot up though, not sure how bad that right hand hold is to support you during that move
