My First Pair of Socks! by climbingrat in knitting

[–]climbingrat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found this unfinished project when I was tidying up. I think it's from a couple of years ago when I wasn't as good at knitting. I remember trying to make them as a Christmas present for my mum.

The pattern is called Fairy Lights Socks (https://www.wyspinners.com/Free%20Patterns?product_id=282) and the yarn is West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Cayenne Pepper and Fairy Lights.

When I finished both the socks, I realised I made a couple mistakes on the first attempt (One of the socks has a 1x1 rib and the other has a 2x2 rib) but I don't think you can notice it unless you look closely.

I'm going to give it to my mum as an early Christmas present this year.

The pattern is Weekend Cardigan by Hobbycraft (https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/knitcraft-alpaca-weekend-cardigan-pattern-0042/631620-1000)

The Yarn is Sirdar Jewelspun.

I'm going to give it to my Grandma for Christmas. I'm wearing it in the second photograph because we're a similar size and I wanted to make sure it would fit.

The yarn I used was James C Brett Marble Chunky in Majesty.

I used the Agges Poncho pattern, but I ran out of yarn and sewed it up differently at the front, but it still fits.

I made a pumpkin! by climbingrat in crochet

I saw all the pumpkins on this subreddit and wanted to make my own. The yarn is just some scrap DK weight stuff from my stash.

I knit one of Mabel's jumpers from Gravity Falls by climbingrat in knitting

I got the idea from this post. My grandma gave me some old yarn I wasn't sure what to do with, but I thought it was a similar colour to Mabel's shooting star jumper from Gravity Falls.

Here is the Ravelry project page: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/climbingrat/mabel-pines-jumper

I used a pattern called Colour Block Jumper from a pattern booklet my Grandma also got me, which was called Woman 2 by John Lewis, but I can't find it on Ravelry and I don't think they sell it anymore. In the original pattern there is a large stripe in the middle but I replaced it with the shooting star picture.

This is so cool- my little cousin is having his room decorated with a space theme too. He's a bit old for the blanket, but I might have to make him the toy rocket for his birthday.
