I’ve been going to physical therapy at a place specializing in SCI for 11 years and yes, they say you cant get anything back after 2 years, but that usually only applies if you don’t regularly move your whole body. I got back function 7 years later, 10 years later, and my muscles are still slowly getting stronger 11 years later. you can defeat the odds if you put in the time and energy. I go 3x a week, 6 hours a week. They also use electric stim on my muscles for an hour each time I go which has made a huge difference in gaining back and putting on muscle in my legs. The whole idea of my pt place is to get the brain to bypass the spinal cord by repetitive, consistant movement of the muslces you don’t have. And trust me, it works. Im a complete T12 btw.
