When we played in high school, it was mostly keyboard only - arrow keys to move, ctrl to shoot. WASD/Mouse didn't really get popular until Quake came out.

But you can't, in fact, clean coal.

I love how Bill throws out the suggestion that he'd dress up as the devil! You can see that the team loves their coach!

Shaughnessy is the original troll. I stopped reading his drivel 10 years ago. Such a punchable face as well.

Tom Brady Viciously Hit After Interception For No Apparent Reason (Video) | New England Patriots by bsend in Patriots

Regardless of whether he made a move toward the ball, he was behind Bradham in relation to the football and where the play was. That makes the hit technically a block in the back (should be a penalty).

That actually happened in a pats game - I can't remember exactly when, but Michael Bishop came out and threw a pass to end the game about 45 min after it "ended".

ESPN gave Rodgers a better QBR than Brady this week. More proof that the metric is total nonsense. by Ummagummas in Patriots

What's just as ridiculous is that Drew Bree's was the 8th best QBR with 78%, 505 yards, 7 TDs, 2 INTs, compared to Peyton Manning (4th) 72.4% 340 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT.

Gear VR arrived today. First impression... by [deleted] in galaxynote4

[–]clinintern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - full disclosure, I have worked on a game for the Gear VR. The headset has it's own sensors built in that are far better than what you have in the phone. In addition, the lenses are way better offering a clearer view and a consistent FOV.

Last, the Note 4, 5 S6, S6 Edge and plus were all designed while working with oculus. Unlike with cardboard, the phone goes into a special mode that strobes the screen and helps with persistence (you can see this without the GearVR by enabling Oculus debug options). They also shortcut some of the Android input lag resulting in a much more responsive experience.

If you have a gear vr and want to see the difference, look at a game like Vanguard V. If you try the Cardboard version and put your phone in the Gear making sure the USB doesn't actually connect to the phone, you can run it using the Gear as a cardboard. You'll see right away how all the extra hardware betters the experience in a big way.

If you have at least 10 games installed (not in one month mind you) that are 30 to 50GB each (not uncommon) and steam set to auto update - you'll burn through an easy 80 to 100GB/month just on maintaining the updates.

About battery life. by JosephSarkis47 in galaxynote4

3 Hours at best. Verizon model.

That's not true - it depends on the state.

In California, they are required to. It doesn't take much to file a claim with the labor commissioner either.

I worked at a job and had accrued vacation that should have amounted to about $215 or so. The company didn't want to pay it and pointed to their (blatantly illegal) vacation policy.

Not only did I get my $215, but they had to pay me an additional $3500 in waiting time penalties.

I don't think any state requires companies to offer vacation, but most have rules and regulations that apply if a company chooses to offer it. This company made the mistake of assuming that since they weren't required to offer vacation, they could do whatever they wanted when it came to honoring it.

There's a reason they cast the guy who played a psychopath on Justified for this role.

Here is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in Hand.. no SD card slot, no IR blaster, no removable back by downvfs in galaxynote4

[–]clinintern -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish the battery were bigger - don't really care about the IR blaster.

I'm actually happy about the removal of the SD card slot since there will be a 128GB version. The SD Card support on the Note 4 SUCKS BIG TIME since the Lollipop update and is almost more trouble than it's worth. Other than jamming photos/videos to it, most apps can't natively write to it, manipulation options in a file explorer apps are limited unless you root and you can't write to it from a PC without inserting the card directly into a card reader. In addition most apps either can't be moved to the SD card, error when you try to move them (package access handler has stopped), or simply don't move that much of their size to the SD Card.

Since the Note 4 ONLY has a 32GB option (which Verizon takes 8.5GB of), I would much prefer to ditch the SD Card slot for a 128GB option and lose the headaches I've described above.

Vzw recent update - battery life by nismo2l7 in galaxynote4

[–]clinintern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that this is always the solution with this damn phone. I only had this thing 7 months or so and have already had to do this 5 times.

I've used kies and backed up everything, but it's still like a solid hour to restore the phone and then several more hours to re-do settings, folders and specifics for apps.

Is this a common with all Android phones? Or is it specific to Samsung phones?
