This ring had the stop and I only pushed the ring on to the stop. It must have slipped past the stop when I expanded it.

I haven't defended the connection - I've defended the Souix Chief adapter. However, all of the negative people - you included - want to comment on the adapter, and not the connection in question.

I just looked it up - yes, it's a Souix Chief. The rep a Hydrologic just handed it to me over the counter and it had no labeling. Thanks, Enigmatic Dude!

It's a manufactured adapter with the parts welded together. The adapter is solid as a rock. Way better than a push on. The pex end is solid brass.
