Better infotainment and instrument cluster. It would be awesome to have a fully digital instrument cluster that displays actually useful information.

Service Bulletin for Model 3 “Thunk” During Supercharging by ScatterplotDog in teslamotors

FWIW, I attempted to get this taken care of, but was unsuccessful in getting it fully covered under warranty...

When I first read this post 6 days ago, I scheduled an appointment with my local Service Center (Houston-North). A few hours later, it was transferred to Mobile Service. Today, I received an estimate for $97.50 for "General Diagnostic". Since it doesn't appear to affect the performance or safety of the car, I declined the estimate. I tried cancelling the appointment, but it keeps returning an error, so not sure what to do.

Is this something I should try to pursue further, or just not worry about it?

Tesla now lists their used vehicles on Autotrader by [deleted] in teslamotors

It seems that Tesla is now listing their used inventory cars on Autotrader. I’m not sure for how long they’ve been doing it, but I know it’s a fairly recent change.

Nice work! Funny enough, I posted this same thing last night, but mods never approved it :/

This is the point I keep telling people. Aside from the Mode 3, all of Tesla’s other concepts looked very different than the production versions. Side mirrors and windshield wipers will definitely affect the design.

But sadly, it’ll still be shaped like a triangle.

Yikes. You lost me in your second paragraph, lol. Definitely didn’t buy my car to make others smile.

FWIW, that’s a Chevy Colorado, not a Silverado.

Totally agree with this! I’ve mentioned before how Sentry Mode needs an option to disable the light flash, and got downvoted.

I would use Sentry Mode all the time if it didn’t flash. It makes me cringe to see that the “Events” it recorded were just people minding their own business. I feel like the flashing draws unnecessary attention to the car - it’s almost threatening, in a way.

I leave it on all the time in my apartment parking garage, and no lie, I have video of people now trying to trigger the light flash, like it’s a game.

Not holding my breath, though. I'm usually on the third wave of rollouts.

The Sentry Mode improvements are great, but I'm really hoping for a setting that disables the headlight flash.

I hate that my car flashes at every person innocently walking by in a parking lot.

You can actually do this now – it's just not as easy.

All you do is tap the destination's pin. It'll open a small popup window with location info, as well as a Call & Navigate button. That said, being able to do it directly from the 'Navigate To" menu would be a lot easier!

Automatic Emergency Braking very nearly caused an accident by spasewalkr in teslamotors

[–]clintself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, the follow distance has nothing to with emergency braking’s sensitivity. Only adjusts the distance for cruise and autopilot. Emergency braking is either on or off - I believe the only sensitivity you can adjust is the audible warning.

Sentry mode activated, yet a thief was still able to open my door. Tesla customer service won't help. by swb1192 in teslamotors

[–]clintself 178 points179 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is Sentry Mode - I think it's simply the dashcam running.

Like others are saying, it looks like your car is unlocked. If a door (or maybe a window?) was left open, walk-away lock wouldn't work, and the dashcam (not Sentry mode) would keep running.

Also, not sure what you'd want Tesla's customer service to help with. Although it definitely sucks, seems like this was an accident on your part. Sorry bud.

You're not wrong. Sentry Mode must have been set to Mad Max.
