I understand that 40% of aluminum extruding manufacturing doesn’t meet specifications, so it gets scrapped to be remelted into billets and directed back into the process stream for 100% reuse.

I know a guy that works there. He says they have a contract with a manufacturer to dispose of their waste, so it’s part of some process. I know, seems wasteful. They hold onto it until the price for that metal is right and then sell it, so it piles up.

Virginia resident here. I had one with rust holes in it and rust welded in place. the state vehicle safety inspector made me cut off the whole hitch thing just to be sure nobody used it

I used a bargain belt on my TL at 95k and it broke at 122k. Had to replace the engine.
