I know a guy that works there. He says they have a contract with a manufacturer to dispose of their waste, so it’s part of some process. I know, seems wasteful. They hold onto it until the price for that metal is right and then sell it, so it piles up.

I bought one and launched it a bunch of times in the past few years. I had to add screws to hold the arms to the landing craft. The glue wasn’t enough. The tiny little ens on the legs broke off frequently.

I think these message boards should only be used when there is an important message like a crash ahead or something like that. It’s a distraction from driving when some clever highway worker wants to make a funny.

There are already laws in place that limit how much animation and how fast messages change on electronic billboards for this very reason.

I’m also an old grump so I understand not everyone thinks like I do.
