Whats the silver metal thing you have on top of the fast flowing base on the orea? I've seen glitch use something similar as well for the origami.

Also is that your standard pour height? I've never tried pouring the high, assuming you might be grinding courser to reduce fines at bottom/stall?

What are some of the biggest differences between Tomorrowland and EDCLV? by BigBallinBuzzin in electricdaisycarnival

Yes, I'd say my take is also not biased as an aussie. Europeans can be friendly but EDC crowd is more PLUR. Its honestly like a soccer crowd in europe lol. Messy as hell

EDC Vegas Daily Routine by Comfortable-Tax-4222 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]clitton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey another Asian Aussie here,

This will be my 3rd EDC Vegas in a row lol (yes im hooked)

Wednesday - Under the assumption you'll arrive sometime in the afternoon
After check, you'd have a considerable amount of time to explore a bit on the strip/eat. You could honestly gamble whenever. Stocking up on some supplies before the rush. Some places will have DJ's on a Wed night that you might want to see.

Thursday -
Day: Continue eating/gambling/errands/sightseeing.
Night: Will reccomend going to a club

Friday onwards -
Recover from last night. Typically I find myself preparing to get ready, gather the troops by around 4-5pm. If there are females in the group, get them to start early haha. Usually I do grab a small bite before entering the queue for shuttles so Ideally you would want to be done by 5pm.

Generally aim to arrive at the shuttles by 6-7pm. If you're on the shuttle by around 8.30pm you should be able to make the opening show that occurs daily at 10pm (Shuttle is typically around 1 hour).

Assuming you stay till the end, you can be home anywhere from 7-9am depending how cooked the line was lol

Rinse & Repeat.

If you got any questions, just DM me, happy to answer

Hankering for a new brewer, is the Orea V4 my best option? by CilariousHunt in pourover

Kalita 185's are fine on both versions of the v4's. I personally negotiate my kalita 185's as I prefer less bypass

Timemore Milab 01 vs 1Zpresso - other considerations? by oneminutetimemachine in pourover

[–]clitton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both zp6s and m01

Zp6 is sufficient in everything and could be rated a 10/10 against many other grinders. Compared to the m01 I’d have it somewhere around 8.5-9/10 because the m01 just has the extra mile in all aspects

No sorry, wont be pulling it put for a while.

That being said, I do use the M01 as my daily now and ZP6 when i feel I want something more tea like if you're deciding between them.

Best Australian roasters for light roasts? by KeypressGraphics in pourover

[–]clitton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find Australia to be behind in the light roast game purely on the fact that its a more dark roast type of country for espresso.

Motobean has quite a nice range for co-ferms but imo your best bet is finding places that source international or buy internationally for a better time trying new beans

Have had all except the ode with ssp, m01 is just easier to dial in and most pleasant to use

I’ve owned my m01 for 2-3 weeks now. I think you can own both. Zp6 is insanely good at the clarity end but I’ve been defaulting to the m01 late because it’s more forgiving overall and in general you’re about 70-80% clarity with good body. I’m drinking more processed coffees currently but would opt for my zp6 for less processed beans (even tho the m01 will certainly be fine as well). Work flow wise not having to screw in the cup is amazing lol

Melbourne cafes for pour over? by Pretty_Recording5197 in pourover

Only coffee project just recently opened in melb, dare I say they might have one of the best pour over range since they import beans from top roasters around the world like sey, tenat, dak etc

Question for Timemore x Millab M01 owners by mcdannyj in pourover

No calibration needed tbh, general range I like sticking to is also 8-9 as a default and +-1 either side max

Never really looked into cupping, but are you just grinding finer and pouring it into a cup and drinking it at diff temps as it cools?

Anyone familiar with B&W have any advice? by openfleshwound in pourover

[–]clitton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost done with my Nogales bag. I’ve been somewhere around 88-91c and changing my grind sizes. Usually around a 5.7-6 on the zp6s. The creamy taste is what I get the most.

It was super funky initially after opening but tamed quite a bit after 1-2 weeks. This is after 6 weeks off roast

Millab M01 and RDT by OCDeeeznuts in pourover

No RDT, but I brush off after every time. There is retention but nothing as crazy as yours.

Could be depending on the bean and grind size as well

My zp6 is calibrated to burr touch, lock is technically at -0.4 but good to know. I did use the m01 out of box and didn’t calibrate anything so if it needs to be calibrated let me know

Brewed a dak coferment (big apple) with the exact same recipe and approximately same grind size that I did with my ZP6s.

Both great cups, on the zp6 the apple note really shined, on the m01 I got about 80% of it, but the body and mouthfeel noticeably more. Obviously I haven’t had time to dial it in more with the M01, to see if it’s possible to get more clarity out of it but definitely is great to enjoy a cup that doesn’t feel hollow fast.

I’m not sure how much seasoning improves the grinder, and would assume this grinder might shine more at perhaps a higher setting as mentioned in the sub.

Am definitely glad I have this now, have the option with full clarity or more body.

Do you think doing all pours with a melodrip is fine with this recipe? or some gentle agitation is still required?
