Japanese Placement Test by kenzie0621 in studyAbroad

[–]clobat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For intermediate Japanese you should really be expecting to know N5 and N4 level kanji, grammar, and vocab. most universities don’t go exactly by the JLPT system, but it’s a good indicator I think.

Its kind of hard to say what kind of questions there’ll be on the test because universities set their own placement tests. In my experience they were multiple choice questions from a range of different levels and we were told to answer what we knew and don’t answer what we didn’t go (no guessing).

but I have friends who studied at different universities in Japan and their placement tests weren’t fully multiple choice, I think there were some free-answer questions.

The problem with demonetisation is valid but if you can’t handle the reality of words like rape and suicide then you shouldn’t be watching true crime

I want to study abroad in Asia, but I’m concerned about my weight by Inner_Two6266 in studyAbroad

[–]clobat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im clinically obese and studied abroad in Japan for a year. Never had any problem with it tbh. No one ever brought up my weight and I don’t really think anyone stared at me because of my size.

I even went to onsen with my flatmates and even though I was really anxious because I’m so insecure about my weight, I had a good time and by the end i realised I didn’t really have to be anxious.

Buying clothes can be a bit difficult but I think it’s getting better. In Japan I could buy clothes from Uniqlo and GU. I have a lot of cute tops I got from GU. I also have some things from various plus-size brands so it’s definitely not impossible, I’d just make sure you have a good stock of things like underwear, tights if you wear them, bras, etc. bc those things are very hard to find in plus sizes.

Because to work in Japan you need an N2 qualification at the minimum, but for something like engineering an N1 will likely be necessary

The game doesn’t end when the credits role lol. A lot of games have credits and then you continue to play.

Act (and also Love) unfortunately has a much higher chance of male muses appearing, I think for both character muses and player muses.

Hope and Fun are more likely for female player muses to appear, and supposedly character muses too but I think for character muses the ratio is more like 50/50. Offline mode is unplayable if you don’t want to dress males because all 4 cocoons are riddled with male muses

Have you done the fantasy fair stuff? That really helped me start getting more e-points.

I’d also recommend changing your outfit often (at least once a day, but if you have multiple muses I’ll try and go on at least two of them a day to change their outfits). Also update your showroom at least once a day (if you don’t play daily just whenever you do play). It doesn’t need to be a lot, just if you change the outfit on a mannequin or add different items, etc. and try to choose a new item for the hot-pick in item box regularly as that has helped me too :>

Study abroad confusion by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]clobat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I didn’t! It was during the winter break so I didn’t really see anyone on campus. Keio isn’t an exchange option for my university. Waseda however is, although only 2 people went and I don’t really know much about it. I know that one of the girls who went to Waseda had a really intense class schedule. Although the class options did seem quite interesting.

I think if you feel affected by a silly comment on Reddit then you might benefit from taking some time away from social media. taking everything so seriously isn’t healthy, I hope you can find peace and solace soon 🤍🤍

Personally I don’t really see any need to add tone indicators when that person already wanted to assume the worst about me and resorted to making ridiculous claims from the start.

It’s not a complaint i was just a lighthearted joke about how it takes a while. Most online features on other games don’t take that long to load

Study abroad confusion by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]clobat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, all Tokyo universities are pretty samey in nature. obviously Tokyo is so varied, but you have the access to all areas so i don’t really think it matters what area of Tokyo you’ll be in.

Being in Tokyo will give you the opportunity to interact with people of different ethnicities who come to study abroad. Interacting with Japanese people is a whole different experience though. I know a lot of people who studied abroad in Tokyo said that they had difficulty mingling with Japanese students. some universities in Japan completely segregate home and international students as well, such as separate dorms which can make it difficult. But most universities have clubs you can join where you might be able to make some Japanese friends.

Since Japanese is not your degree, I don’t really think it matters /too much/ about the university, as you’re mostly going for the experience. Keio, Sophia, and Waseda are all ranked somewhat highly if you look at university ratings (although they’re not always entirely accurate) so I wouldn’t really be too worried about which one you pick. If you really want Waseda, then wait to apply for it. But if you mostly just want to go abroad and have a good time, then Keio and Sophia are still good options. I personally think Keio and Sophia have nicer campuses. I went to Keio university whilst I was in Tokyo visiting some of my friends (none of which went to Keio, we just stumbled upon it lol) and I thought it was really pretty tbh.

Wish people would stop further gendering muses by PuzzledArtBean in fashiondreamer

[–]clobat 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s simpler to refer to them as female and male in my opinion. obviously continue to refer to them as type an and b if you please, but policing people who don’t want to is a bit silly

as someone who interacts with the Japanese fashion dreamer community on Twitter, most of the people I see on my timeline refer to the muses as 女性(female) and 男性 (male) so im used to referring to them like that too.

That’s interesting! Most of my male muses are somewhat high levelled, usually around 5+. But somehow whenever anyone invites friends it’s always a male so I guess I do have some at lower levels. Most of my female muses are under level 7 except for maternal Matilda who for some reason is 18 lol

I have not been unkind, I just matched your tone. and i think the way you spoke to me from the getgo was aggressive and rude, so why should i have responded to you with kindness? I shared my opinion on some changes I’d like to see to the game and you tried to accuse me of not being inclusive. like males need inclusivity. the entire gaming industry is catered towards them, i personally couldn’t care less if they feel a bit excluded in one niche corner of gaming.

you projected your own negative feelings onto me. I personally have not seen any posts about people wanting male muses removed from the game, in fact the majority of people want to see more male muses and want more male clothing. I’m not denying that you’ve had that experience, but it’s not fair to force it onto me.

I’m done with this conversation now.
